DeSmuME 0.9.9 released!

Yes, it’s been a while since the last release, but we haven’t been completely idle. There’s a brand new jit cpu core which yields some impressive speedups, and a ton of work on the OSX port!

    Aaaaah yeah!

  7. Edward says:

Wow I downloaded 0.9.8 a couple days ago, forgot about it then came back here and noticed the download was different. Perfect timing!

  8. Gerard says:

Thank you so much, you are doing a wonderful job with the emulator, my sincere congratulations and best wishes for you,

  9. AsPika2219 says:

Finally! Is time for play games and make codes! :D

  10. wow! says:

Well, this is the first time ive been on the site since 0.9.8, and what do you know, the day 0.9.9 is released! will download!

  11. RealFake says:

Is it normal to get more fps with 0.9.8?

  12. Jakob says:

When can we expect the source archive?

  13. zeromus says:

RealFake, there are many options and many variables, and never any guarantees that a newer program is faster than an older version. But that game should be running around 25% faster. Study the available configuration options.

Jakob, in the future, sometime very near to the present.

  14. WOW Macuser says:

    WOWOWOWOWOW

I used to use Desmume allllll the time, but this latest release has BLOWN my mind, I don’t know how long it took you to do this; ITS FANTASTIC. The interface looks different, cheats enabled etc. Amazing.

    Thank you ^_^

  15. RandomFan says:

Cool a new version ive been keeping an eye on this emulator since 0.9.4
Pls name nect version 1.0.0 not 0.9.10 xD

  16. Gilgamaln says:

RealFake Desmume runs a little slower then before if you don’t enable the new engine.

  17. RealFake says:

True dat Gilgamaln i put block size to 1 and it’s already faster than 0.9.8. With block size of 100 i get approximately 55% more fps.

  18. kramzer18 says:

Thank you so much for this best ds emulator. . . DeSmuMe Best ds emulator. . . Keep up the good work once again thank you!

  19. sjyune says:

now binary is UPX compressed ?

  20. Orangestar says:

Having trouble compiling from source in Ubuntu. Anyone willing to compile a Debian package?

  21. Anon says:

    Where’s that debugger?

  22. Orange says:

Finally! Thanks for the emulator… I see increased speed

  23. zeromus says:

sjyune: it’s always been UPX compressed. Is this a problem?
Anon: on the hard disk of whoever is developing it in secret and not sending it to us.

  24. Yahooo!!! says:

I wait for new version almost a year!!!
Hope Ideas will be updated soon. (and maybe NOSGBA will some day)

  25. I am really impressed now that it is officially released! :D This is not so laggy compared to every other emulator previously made!

  26. Titouf says:

Well, I’ve never had any problem running a game on DesMume since 0.9.6 but an update is always nice ! Thanks for your hard work. I visit this website every week to see if there’s a new version ^^

DesMume may be the emulator that’s updated the least often from all those I use (and whose develloping teams are still active ofc) but it’s also the only one that runs ALL games at playable speeds :)

  27. DarkofHell says:

wow, it’s been a year. so fast, but perfect on timing, just when i’m experiencing lags on 8, 9 came! thank you and more power.

  28. Sumtoni says:

170 Fps ! Thank you very much !!!

  29. waj says:

SUHWEET NEW EMULATOR!!!! Great work guys; no more getting frustrated I can’t listen to the actual music or spending hours trying to figure out how to speed it up. 10/10

  30. Celso says:

Thanks a lot man, it was real speedy and nice recently with the dymaic recompiler. Finally we can play at the correct speeds!!!
    Thanks again!!

  31. WanTwo says:

anyone test HeartGold/SoulSilver with this yet? Crash still occur?

  32. CRASHES says:

I’m playin’ pokemon soulsilver, but it keeps crashing…

  33. Titouf says:

What do you mean ? I’ve just finished Soul Silver on DesMuMe. I used a patched ROM, and well, sometimes you get that black screen thing, but when it occurs just use the in-game save, reset the ROM, and it will be gone :) This works for all those “non-supported Pokemon games”. Stiil have to find out how to make the “Explorer” series work though

  34. Yuhhhhh says:

Will you guys make 0.9.9 update for Linux (Ubuntu) users??

  35. tianmiegong says:

    so good things.
    thanks so much!

  36. Nut says:

    Thanks for the new release.

  37. Lan21 says:

Zero is there no more delay or laggy sound when you play sands of destruction? I did some testing myself on 0.9.8 to bypass the seemingly laggy sound.. :)

  38. Lan21 says:

by the way great emulator :D been using desmume for a long time now :D it just keeps getting better and better!

  39. 3DS says:

Will you guys make a 3DS emulator in the future? I’ve played almost every ds game that interest me out their.

  40. Adrian says:

Super Thanks !!! Keep the great work !!!!

  41. iSubaru says:

It’s good to see that Desmume is still developed and new version is out…however I will have to trouble You a little on support forums about Linux release :P
However before that dark hour will come I will say that officially Desmume overcame no$gba, FINALLY

  42. Jason says:

where can the new Desume emulator be found?

  43. Z_God says:

I just installed the new 0.9.9 version, but I cannot find this JIT option. There is no ‘emulation settings’ entry in the config menu at all. It seems this is a joke.

  44. Lan21 says:

Z_God it’s the dynamic recompiler thing.. = = this is hardly the month for jokes and trolls

  45. Theredbaron says:

Wow. Awesome. I am getting so much speed. It is works great now. :)

I was actually thinking maybe this was a dead project, glad to see I was wrong. Well worth the wait.

  46. Z_God says:

Lan21, so where is it? I searched both the regular and Glade version, in neither I could find this option.

  47. Synn3r says:

WoW, the speed boost thing actually works, I’m amazed! :D
Now I can play all the games with no lag at all, even Pokemon Black 2. So far I see no quality reduction from using the new cpu mode, so I’m guessing this thing is good.
I don’t know what kind of magic you guys did, but keep it up! :D

  48. Z_God says:

CrazyMax, thanks! That seems to work. It says this after starting up now “CPU mode: JIT” and the emulation speed is indeed faster :)

  49. Edu says:

Sorry for Double post but here is the link for the tutorial (Windows) if anyone want:

This is soooooo amazing………….. Its speed is something great….. Lots of thanks for the new stuff….
