DeSmuME 0.9.6 released!
This release focuses on emulation bugfixes and features of interest
to homebrew developers. Most users will find that the compatibility
is increased substantially.
Some save files may be invalidated due to use of broken crc logic.
Back up your DSV files before using this version of the emulator or else
the game might wipe it.
Users of OSX, gtk, cli and gtk-glade frontends please note that now we
have a common directory in ~/.config/desmume for config file,
saves and savestates. The old .desmume.ini will be moved
automatically with the name config but you have to move your saves
manually.
UPDATE We have released a new version of the source tarball to fix problems building the glade frontend. If you downloaded your copy before 05/25/2010, please download it again

Glad to hear it! Been looking forward to 9.6m and the fixes it brings.
May 19th, 2010 at 8:32 am
Ooh, sweet. Doesn’t seem to be up at DL yet, though.
May 19th, 2010 at 8:44 am
wow!!! finally an official build. I’ve been playing many NDS games using DESMUME. It’s better than owning a real DS. Thank you very much for making this possible. Continue improving this awesome emulator.
May 19th, 2010 at 9:49 am
Yepyep: You should own a DS in order to get support here.
May 19th, 2010 at 10:15 am

May 19th, 2010 at 11:41 am
Wooh congrats
May 19th, 2010 at 1:21 pm
I’m so happy!:) thank you!
May 19th, 2010 at 2:18 pm
I’ve tried some games which previous version can’t work correctly. RE deadly silence, dragon quest 5, ninja gaiden… all works very fine. shadows are now stay correctly behind objects. professor layton(s) now we can see the missing ‘yellow arrows’. great job!
May 19th, 2010 at 3:11 pm
Where are the saves under Mac? I can’t find them to replace them with my old saves…
May 19th, 2010 at 5:13 pm
Thanks for this fantastic new release. I gained a nice speed-up in pokemon heartgold. thanks very much!!
May 19th, 2010 at 5:50 pm
Majuss, see the information “for Users of gtk, cli and gtk-glade frontends”
May 19th, 2010 at 10:51 pm
Phoenix Wright’s fifth case works now. Nice work guys! : D
May 19th, 2010 at 10:58 pm
Nice job guys, keep up the good work!
May 20th, 2010 at 12:24 am
Yes, yes! The day finally came!
I was waiting for this day!
May 20th, 2010 at 4:30 am
Boost button on mac still doesn’t function at all
May 20th, 2010 at 7:01 am
Muchas gracias!!!
May 20th, 2010 at 7:11 am
Thank us by buying a real DS anyway so someone gets bread on their table.
May 20th, 2010 at 9:46 am
It’s good to support the video game industry by actually buying their products. It gives the developers an incentive to produce the quality titles we all come to love.
May 20th, 2010 at 11:08 am
lol 1 day i was off of this site and 0.9.6 got released
thanx, now i will start to test it and i will report if i find some bugs!
btw hope that there will be wi-fi on 0.9.7
May 20th, 2010 at 2:10 pm
Congratulations. My regrets are that I can’t help.
May 20th, 2010 at 4:10 pm
Excellent. always nice to see an update from DeSmuME
Ill be testing it out!
May 20th, 2010 at 4:14 pm
I’m sorry to have to post/comment again. I have a suggestion, which I think wouldn’t be hard to make. This suggestion is to make an option that when you run the emulator, the last game you played runs automatically.
May 20th, 2010 at 4:37 pm
wtf where is the PIANO
)
I Tought it would be on 0.9.6…… (but it would be on the 0.9.7
May 20th, 2010 at 4:50 pm
MemoNick: The source code is available, being easy to add, you can do it yourself.
May 20th, 2010 at 5:22 pm
@ z
I have a ds and I have pokemon heartgold too but the reason I downloaded this is because I want to be a programmer so I mess a bit with the SVN builds and see what has been done in new releases.
May 20th, 2010 at 5:51 pm
Hi,
could someone tell me why Pokémon pearl have some laggs under 10.6.3?
It runs with 63fps but there are still some minor laggs
May 20th, 2010 at 6:10 pm
Thanks shash. What if I add it, can I email it to them and include it in the next build?
May 20th, 2010 at 6:15 pm
i am tasting the new pokemon soul sliver and hart gold on this new update to see if and how long it gos with out locking up
so far so good i have beat the farst gym and still working good
May 20th, 2010 at 6:36 pm
How i can compile it to ubuntu?
May 20th, 2010 at 10:56 pm
This is an absolutely amazing emulator! This version runs pretty much every DS game 100% perfectly, and at 60 FPS for me. Keep up the amazing work!
May 21st, 2010 at 4:58 am
Norton Anti-Virus said that there is virus in 0.9.6.
What is is going on?
May 21st, 2010 at 10:26 am
well, well i tested pokemon soul silver and it runs at 60 fps with all the hacks and the best quality settings enabled (i had 60 fps at 0.9.5 too
) so no complaining for speed from me.
but if i use bios and enable the swi option the speed drops at 40 fps (but in 0.9.5 it was running with that option at 60 fps!) and the problem is really on the bios and not in the firmware like you sayd in the faq
another bad thing for me is that you released that cheat converter with the desmume but you dident released the firmware editor that you gave on the svn directory with the other tools!
and the last is that you still have the manual for the 0.9.5 version on the Read Me.win file which comes with the 0.9.6 release
May 21st, 2010 at 1:50 pm
MemoNick: In the highly improbable case that it happens, do a patch and send to the current developers and they’ll check it and integrate if it’s not a piece of crap.
Antonio: If you don’t know how to compile, you shouldn’t be using neither Linux nor a computer.
Matt: Norton Anti-Virus is wrong. And it’s a piece of crap.
May 21st, 2010 at 4:52 pm
Thanks shash for your replies.
Matt: I agree with shash, there was a time when I used it. I’ve stopped because it’s no longer good.
May 21st, 2010 at 10:20 pm
it seems when i load a save state it freeze?
May 21st, 2010 at 10:50 pm
hmm.
i can’t use cheats at my soulsilver
it says i can’t save cheats to file
why ? o_õ
May 22nd, 2010 at 6:20 am
The compatibility has been astronomically enhanced with this release. What about making speed a bit more of a priority for the next commercial release? I know some older computers would enjoy that. I still have to work on getting my main PC fixed and it sucks being bound to a lower quality comp.
May 22nd, 2010 at 8:19 am
i think they wll work on speed on 0.9.8 or later.
i have tested 90 games so far with the numerical order of the advancescene.com and they all boot perfectly so yes compability with games is like 90% compared to a real ds.
May 22nd, 2010 at 1:17 pm
Yeah compatibility is great. I think I have also found a bug. When you advance frame by frame, there is no option to return to normal.
May 22nd, 2010 at 1:56 pm
I think performance could be focused more on than previously as compability is on a such a great level now and Desmume is like the most compability/least performance focused emulator I know of. Yes I have a very fast comp, i7-860 @ 4.1GHz so it works fine for all games for me but just stating my personal opinion so don’t shoot me now thx. There’s lots of possible performance optimizations to be made for this emulator and it would probably possible to make the speed up to twice as fast if that was focused on.
May 22nd, 2010 at 2:07 pm
RPGWiZaRD: You don’t have the slighest idea of what you’re talking about, so shut the fuck up.
May 22nd, 2010 at 3:12 pm
Antonio simply download the source. Then enter whit terminal in the folder and do “make” and “sudo make install”.
I don’t remember if there are some dependence, but when i compiler it i don’t have problem.
P.s. my english suck.
If you wan’t, download my .deb here: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/4376113/desmume_0.9.6-1_amd64.deb
May 22nd, 2010 at 3:40 pm
pff i have just tested all the enhanced nintendo dsi games and THEY ALL WORK!!!
it would be nice if you upgade that emu to dsi (by emulating the 2 dsi cameras, the ndsi firmware and other stuff)
May 22nd, 2010 at 5:01 pm
i am sorry i downloaded this and one i cant use mic two save state says error and three it keeps creating a new save file everytime i start it and so far no one has said a word about any problems they are having either you can reply with something that is helpful and makes this thing work fully or its not even worth the time yeah it runs the games smoothly but if the mic and saving dont work whats the point if you keep getting stuck or have to start over bc of this yeah it would b nice if you can fix that problem or give advice on how to fix it myself
thank you and have a nice day
May 22nd, 2010 at 5:03 pm
ok so i figured out why save state wasnt working i had renamed the folder but didnt redirect it on the emulator
May 22nd, 2010 at 7:11 pm
@ hendo
Not one emulator in the entire world is perfect. Don’t you know how much work it takes to get it working as good as this? Maybe you should try it yourself and maybe then you will understand.
May 22nd, 2010 at 7:38 pm
shash> No need to get to that tone and if you do then at least give some proper arguments. If the emulator had dynamic recompilers that would probably give a huge speedup for example. I’ve often checked the rev updates and I saw no hints about performance improvements since last official release so it’s difficult to not get the idea this emulator is still heavily focused on compability even if far majority of games works without any issues or any serious issues at least. At this point you might have to spend a long time to find compability bugs or try and fix them that might only help one or a few games while it might not be that difficult at all to find a way to improve performance by even 5% that would benefit almost everyone. PCSX2 for example rely on dynamic recompilers in order to be able to run at playable speeds, it also has a great dual core support and utilizes the latest DirectX runtime and uses some DX11 features even.
Instead of a typical answer like, the emulator is free and open sourced so you’re free to do it yourself with your sparetime, I’d be interested in your arguments why there is like still at this stage nearly 100% focus on compability. You have different ways you can go being an emulator author, why choose exactly this path? Is it that much easier and faster to fix the bugs or unimplemented stuff that’s there perhaps still at this stage?
May 22nd, 2010 at 8:05 pm
RPGWiZaRD: I used that tone, because your affirmations were full of crap, at least without proper profiling and proof. As why zeromus and company focus on compatibility, I guess it’s because what’s really important on an emulator. To play fast, you already have the real thing. You may not agree, but as long as you are not part of the dev team, you’ll have to live with that decision.
May 23rd, 2010 at 1:18 am
Speed is no problem to me. Read the FAQ on how to make the emulator run faster.
May 23rd, 2010 at 4:24 am
I’ve got years worth of work to do without even considering speedups. By the time I’m done with that, nobody will need speedups. You see, slow emulation is a problem that eventually solves itsself. Bugs don’t fix themselves.
May 23rd, 2010 at 12:05 pm
RPGWiZaRD: If you don’t like this emulator, simply find another one that supports nearly all games and has great speed.
P.S. Good Luck in finding one, because you will need all the luck possible!
May 23rd, 2010 at 2:55 pm
I don’t have any issues with speed, I can already run it at above full speed for any game on this i7-860 overclocked to 4.1GHz and I prefer running many games faster than 60 FPS. I did measure a ~8% speedboost with this v0.9.6 compared to r3483 though. Don’t get me wrong, I’m very happy with the emulator and it’s by far the best NDS emulator out there. It’s just I’m a performance freak and if I was personally an emu author I’d weigh compability / performance around 60% / 40%.
May 23rd, 2010 at 5:48 pm
Personally if I were the governor of the Ticino canton of Switzerland I’d weigh timber/tourism around 60% / 40%
May 23rd, 2010 at 10:52 pm
Thanks, i been waiting for this so long!
On a phenom II x4 955 3.2 ghz, 2×2gb ram, gforce 7100 all the games works 60fps so far!
Thanks, thanks, and thanks again
May 24th, 2010 at 7:06 am
WOTWOOOO! this is just awesome! it finally fixes the trading bug in pokemon soulsilver and heartgold! i love it! sweet! thanks guys!
May 24th, 2010 at 2:03 pm
Did someone use the Mac-Version?!
Pokemon Pearl has lot of laggs under Mac and is unplayable…
Nearly every game under Mac laggs like shit o.O
Under Windows everything works perfect
May 24th, 2010 at 8:05 pm
Hi,
Norton Anti-Virus said that there is virus in 0.9.6.
What is is going on?
This is a game Emu compare with others(no$gba 2.6a & iDeaS1033)
Thanks for your hard work!!
Please check your file, why Norton detect it as a “virus”…
Thanks~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
May 24th, 2010 at 8:49 pm
Ive been waiting for long. nice work team! ^_^
are action replay cheats supported though?
May 24th, 2010 at 9:14 pm
Asian: That’s because Norton Anti-Virus is a piece of shit, use a better anti-virus and it’ll get fixed.
May 25th, 2010 at 9:18 am
http://sourceforge.net/projects/desmume/develop ¨The project specified does not exist.¨
okay before i have a heart attack i want to know what does that means?
tell me that you have been closed the svn for the visitors and that will be fine, only dont tell me that the project is %$#&!!!
May 25th, 2010 at 9:25 am
lol nvm i think it is a problem with sourceforge.net.
¨SourceForge.net continues with unplanned partial outage. Progress continues forward. Time re-estimated for 120 min til resolution¨
May 25th, 2010 at 9:52 am
I agree with Shash. Norton is suck. AVG is far more better.
Asian: Quit using Norton, it will keeping report false positives. Use AVG or Avast! instead.
May 26th, 2010 at 4:01 am
Screen freeze while in a middle of dueling on Yu-Gi-Oh 2010 ROA anyone got this problem?
May 26th, 2010 at 3:37 pm
i think everyone gets that problem
May 26th, 2010 at 5:54 pm
hello, to all
first of. thx for this great emu which get better and better. amazing work
i have a computer from 2001, very old think and i can only run the nosse2 version.
i dont get more fps then 34 for games like castlevania or ff4
my question is , will it be possible some day that it runs at normal speed on my old pc?
nocash$gba for example runs faster tho, almost normal
and pls dont write comments now like “why dont u buy new pc ?”
=)
May 26th, 2010 at 7:01 pm
Fansince2005: No, it has already been stated several times. Buy another computer or emulate less demanding consoles.
May 26th, 2010 at 10:22 pm
ok ty shash
May 27th, 2010 at 7:15 pm
Nice feature would be option to map certain points of lower screen to buttons, like turning the camera in Super Mario 64 DS.
Even better would be option to map analog stick to certain zones on lower screen, emulating movements better in 3D games (again the case of Super Mario 64 DS or Rayman 2). But this is probably hard to program…
May 27th, 2010 at 11:45 pm
learn to use lua. i think it could be done right now. at least the buttons part. dunno about the analog stick, you would have to get access to those from lua which would be a bit harder than the virtual buttons.
May 28th, 2010 at 7:04 am
I had 9,4 prior to switching to 9.6 and something bizarre has occured. I was playing pokemon platinum and i beat the elite four without using the save file except for tin the beggining. After beating the elite four i revert back to the old save file and i figure heck it just reverts back to save files not states. So i save it. But it wont save saying theres already a file and it was impossible to save. So now i can’t save file and i cant beat the game. Also i cant seem to load the file to 9.6 either, it won’t let me past the loading screen after title screen
May 28th, 2010 at 8:13 am
I can’t play wario ware d.i.y..
Do any one can run wario ware d.i.y. well?
May 28th, 2010 at 11:14 am
This is a really good emulator. Nice improvement over v9.5. I noticed the gfx glitches in SMT: Strange Journey are fixed now. Yeah there are some lag spikes here and there, but what other emulator is as compatible and stable as this one right now? People need to stop bitching and appreciate the hard work that goes into making these emulators for us!
May 28th, 2010 at 3:41 pm
B youre out of luck. Read the faq and learn from your mistakes.
May 28th, 2010 at 8:48 pm
what did i do wrong? I’ve never encountered a problem like this before
May 28th, 2010 at 9:12 pm
The faq said what you did wrong. If youre going to play a game where in-game saving is important, then in-game save from the beginning to verify that it is working rather than waiting til the end.
May 29th, 2010 at 12:01 am
Hm, i did a test in the beginning to verify in game save worked, i did it at 0:08, it worked. But apparently it doesn’t work at the end
May 29th, 2010 at 5:01 am
Thank you very much for releasing Desmume 0.9.6. I have been waiting for *quite* a while. Great job.
May 29th, 2010 at 6:28 pm
Uh-oh… It seems like in-game saving does not work for (at least) one game in 0.9.6.
2181 – Rosario and Vampire
You can save and load as normal during the game, but if the ROM is reloaded, or if the emulator is closed and then run again, the saves disappear, and so do the unlocked stuff. ^_^
Save type is Autodetect. Tried the different types of EEPROM save types and they still fail.
BTW, I like the toolbar. But it would be great to have a hotkey to toggle show/hide for it. Also, what is Emulation > Shut Up on the menu bar?
May 29th, 2010 at 7:14 pm
WTF: Read the fucking manual, they wrote it for a reason.
May 30th, 2010 at 9:40 am
lol @shash
anyways, this was an awesome release! speed was noticeably faster.
May 31st, 2010 at 3:48 am
I am very happy to this release, I have waiting for it a *long* time, too.
I have test pokemon, it lags a lot.
I don’t know what is the problem?
My computer:
Duo core 1.80 GHz
RAM: 1GB
Vedio card: Intel 82945G
May 31st, 2010 at 12:00 pm
tsw19911108: Your computer is below the requirements.
May 31st, 2010 at 1:35 pm
Congratulation for this release…..better than the previous version.
With this version i can run it on my old PC
Pentium 4 2.4Ghz with only 512sdram!!
which the previous version crash on this spec.
the speed seems can be tolerate faster…
good luck for the future enhance on this emulator….
June 1st, 2010 at 5:02 am
thanks! worth the wait. it’s significantly faster.
June 2nd, 2010 at 9:08 am
Suikoden Tierkreis has cracking voices ingame regardless of sound settings.
June 2nd, 2010 at 11:28 am
What can I Do??
My Nokia N900 can install DeSmuMe from the App store…..
but i can’t run any “.nds” file copied from my nds……
Is it real that my N900 can play the DS emulator?
or any problem i met?
What can i Do??
June 2nd, 2010 at 12:45 pm
yamhk: Not produced here, ask the author of the port.
June 3rd, 2010 at 11:01 am
I agree speed is improving in this release.
Good luck!
June 3rd, 2010 at 2:27 pm
Excellent version, solved a lot of problems. It’s the best emulator i have due to the fact that the graphic plate on my computer is BS.
There is only one thing that bothers me, the lay out of the screens, so i would like to propose an idea, SEPARATE THE TWO SCREENS, so that they could move about of different sizes and so more user friendly.
June 4th, 2010 at 8:02 pm
Wow, excellent release. I think the speed has increased quite a bit for me, and it’s smooth as butter now.
I seem to have one problem that’s bugging me a lot though. I have WarioWare D.I.Y. (U) but I can’t seem to play it. Everytime I reach the menu it asks if the timer is ok, I click yes and then it’s stuck there. Clicking no will just give a message that the ds will be shut now. I was hoping if someone managed to bypass this.
June 4th, 2010 at 8:04 pm
fred, as a courtesy i will suggest that you do not hold your breath waiting for that feature.
June 5th, 2010 at 10:33 am
I’m very happy about the new release, but I played harvest moon rune factory until summer and one day the game started freezing whenever I opened the bag.
This wasn’t happening before, maybe you could tell me why it happens and how I can fix it?
Oh, by the way: Great Job!^^
June 6th, 2010 at 8:22 pm
Im havving a wierd glitch with this one. Every now and then, my screen completly goes black and the sound gets stuck on the last note. My computer is completely locked up and has to be turned off at the button.
June 7th, 2010 at 9:38 pm
caekdaemon, hate to be the bearer of bad news, but your computer sucks.
June 7th, 2010 at 10:19 pm
Anyone else having this issue? The MAC version has been running fine a few times, but lately it always freezes when i load up a game. I cant quit it or do anything. Anyone know how to fix this?
PS: Im trying to load up ace attorney: miles edgworth, btw.
June 8th, 2010 at 12:06 am
Cant save in GTA China wars, what should i do?
June 8th, 2010 at 5:48 pm
justinD, reboot
juanit0x, delete all .sav and .dsv and try again
June 9th, 2010 at 3:42 am
Thanks a ton for this release guys
Faster and more compatible. You guys are awesome!
June 9th, 2010 at 9:24 am
Nice Release, most of my games got improved in performance and speed, good job on tht
I have a problem thoungh while playing Yugioh 5d 2010, when I detroy a monster and send it to the graveyard the game freezes, any suggestion to fix that. I HAVE DONE ALL SUGGESTED IN YOUR faq BUT THE PROBLEM STILL IS THERE.
Keep up with the good job.
June 12th, 2010 at 6:28 am
Hey JustinD, I have the same problem. It seemed to work in the beginning but now it is crashing very frequently, especially when I click on the menu. Also, although I am getting nearly 60 fps on my mac, the game still runs quite slow, and when i skip frames, the directional buttons don’t seem to function correctly.
June 12th, 2010 at 2:22 pm
Tried this with Valkyrie Profile, and it really improved over the already “okay” 0.9.4 emulation.
Configuration options and goodies are all there and nice (love the many magnifying scalers), speed is ..well.. It runs full speed on my machine.. :p
So why exactly is a dynarec such a problem again?
Sorry if it’s been asked / answered before :p
June 12th, 2010 at 8:06 pm
@z i think what @juanit0x have to do its only delete the .dsv but first make a sav backup to import backup memory but anyway how did he/she get that problem. why i didn’t get that on gta ctw
June 13th, 2010 at 3:03 am
we have no interest in dynarecs, thats the problem.
June 13th, 2010 at 6:11 pm
Thank you, now is the best NDS emulator. I have only one petition: ¿It`s possible to incorporate 1.25x and 1.5x zoom, but using any filter, like HQ or 2XSAI?
Actually the filters include a 2x zoom, it would be better if the filters could be independent.
A lot of greeteing, and sorry from my english.
Saludos desde Chile.
June 13th, 2010 at 6:20 pm
2xSAI only scales at 2x. Look at the name of the filter. Filters perform certain resizes, that is their nature
June 13th, 2010 at 6:37 pm
well i don’t know what is dynarecs but anyway i think that we didn’t understande what each other are saying but, (sometime thats happed to people that doen’t understand what each other are talking about and everyone know that anyway).what i mean is that if the dsv don’t work maybe it can be working on the 0.9.5 and not on 0.9.6 and if that’s right he/she can use the ibm and ebm to put it work Normal on 0.9.6
June 14th, 2010 at 3:52 pm
I own an old DS and the DS lite but I never really use them but this emulator is great and I tested it out on my laptop. I will have a 3.06 Ghz Dual Core i7 soon so maybe that will improve performance but as it stands, performance is great. More importantly for me, the sound is also very clear. Well done on a great release and keep up the great work!
June 14th, 2010 at 11:20 pm
I am unsure if this works on sp1 for XP.
I do wish you would get on top of that.
June 15th, 2010 at 1:34 pm
Chris: Just try it and report
June 15th, 2010 at 5:24 pm
Chris: or just update it to sp3?
June 16th, 2010 at 6:54 pm
This is great, i can run it @ my PC without problem.
But, if it is possible, actually I was hoping that I can play it on a netbook

Thanks for releasing the new version!
However, Elite Beat Agents still doesn’t work properly, and the manual 3D settings reset has to be done to make the game run smoothly…
Please kindly look into this issue while developing the next version!
Thanks a lot for your work!
June 21st, 2010 at 5:36 pm
Does Yu-Gi-Oh Reverse of Arcadia work on this version?
June 21st, 2010 at 5:43 pm
elite beat agents works fine. you’re wrong.
June 21st, 2010 at 7:54 pm
@whichboy5, maybe your PC specs are not enough? If you are speaking about speed, try removing the sound, as it offers some speedup.
June 30th, 2010 at 12:06 pm
Hi…
Is there any NDS emulator for Android?
It seems that the new Android is powerful enough to run the emulation, right?
June 30th, 2010 at 12:54 pm
Rob: Ask google to send Android’s to the team
Hell, if you get google to send me one, I might even work on a port myself :O

Just wanted to say thank you for the great and continuing stream of high quality releases. I’ve been part of the emu “scene” since Zophar’s Domain first came online (a long time ago, RIP!) and it always bothers me that there are so many users who complain, and so few who congratulate. Keep up the great work and thank you!
June 30th, 2010 at 10:09 pm
Your emulator is truly incredible! I’ve been able to play retail games with very few problems thus far, even recent ones! For that matter, I’m playing on a cheapo laptop with cheapo Intel graphics!
Please add support for mouse button config in a future release. It would be awesome to be able to map right-click to B, and buttons 4 and 5 to Y and X!
Btw, props on the amount of progress you make with each release! Games that were mildly unstable in 0.9.4, (or even had completely unusable features,) now work fine in 0.9.6, with major performance improvements!
Thank you for such an awesome piece of software!
July 1st, 2010 at 12:05 am
RIP zophar’s domain? the zophar’s domain at zophar.net which is not dead?
July 5th, 2010 at 7:10 pm
Please Make a PPC Mac version??? I can’t seem to get 7.3 to work…..
July 7th, 2010 at 7:07 pm
@z – I hadn’t checked in a while, glad to see it’s back (Nov 2006, it was dead for quite some time – almost 2 years).
July 13th, 2010 at 11:02 am

July 14th, 2010 at 7:18 am

July 14th, 2010 at 2:16 pm
Sorry for not being available for ages.
I want to ask is desmume compatible with Visual C++ 2010 Professional? Can I use it to compile/edit the sources?
July 14th, 2010 at 5:15 pm
not unless you disable sse optimizations
July 15th, 2010 at 1:14 am
Or maybe is it possible to install both Visual C++ 2010 Professional and 2008 Express and have them run side by side?
July 15th, 2010 at 1:25 am
it is. i have 5 versions of visual studio installed.
July 15th, 2010 at 6:35 am
Lol thanks a lot I will try!
July 18th, 2010 at 4:54 am
I’ve been playing mario and luigi partners in time and the game works great, but I opened up the first mushroom shops and when you go to use the shops the screen goes all black and you can’t see what your buying or get any info on what your purchasing. When you exit the shop the game returns to normal.
Anyway not have this problem when playing this game or do they know a way around this problem.
July 18th, 2010 at 10:37 am
Hi i have a question.
When is possible to play with desmume in lan PC at PC without needing wifi ?
July 20th, 2010 at 10:48 pm
Ok, I keep trying to play SoulSilver, and It will either like force me to walk when I am not hitting a key and I can’t move. Or just freeze and become unresponsive. (For Mac.)
July 21st, 2010 at 1:21 am
Darn… still no OS X Universal binary…
July 21st, 2010 at 9:28 am
Why does this new version have more problems running games then the old version?
July 21st, 2010 at 1:49 pm
Kazei: In the future. Use your magic sphere to get a more exact answer. And while you’re at it, check the lottery numbers, and send some money from the prize.
Nate: Buy a PC
Hislop: Don’t hold your breath.
Marcin: It doesn’t, you’re full of crap.
July 23rd, 2010 at 12:55 am
Those of you that sayin’t that this release has more probs than last release are simply lying or their comps are sucks. From my testing, it works great!
July 23rd, 2010 at 2:28 pm
Hello….Can someone help me, im facing problem using desmume in my laptop…here i give my spec :
-AMD Athlon Neo X2 Dual Core Processor L335 1.60 GHz
-Windows 7 Home Premium 32-bit
-2 GB DDR2 SDRAM (1 Dimm)
-ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4330 Graphics with 512 MB DDR3 dedicated graphics memory
The problem i’m facing is the low frame rate, a bit lagged, and maybe the problem faced by a computer with the spec less then the requirements.
Anyone please help.. of course i need the help from the TEAM.
I appreciate the suggestion…
I’m having a great experience from using Desmume in my PC… TQ for developing desmume to us…
July 23rd, 2010 at 4:44 pm
i’ve just own a real NDS, so now i was trying to transfer my save file (.dsv) from desmume to the console..at first it was loaded nicely. Then after a long play, the saved file seems suddenly corrupts (it cant be loaded, only blackscreen) Anyone know why?
July 24th, 2010 at 12:04 pm
hi ya…
i’ve got prblem here..
i play digimon world DS.
i keep play for long time till i got this stuck..
i load my save..
n when i want to continue it.. it can’t move anymore.. i press Z ‘b’, X ‘a’.
but no effect.
then i click the screen but no effect to.
is dis something to do with a BUG??
plzz giv me a solution. THX b4.. ^^v
July 24th, 2010 at 2:22 pm
Hi…it seams that your prob has something to do with the save…delete your save, both .dsv and .sav file and start from the beginning.
July 24th, 2010 at 9:10 pm
blazingsun: your cpu sucks and will never run desmume fast
adzuke: you neeed to use the export backup memory as raw save menu option. but if it loaded even once on the console then i would say the transfer succeeded and any further problems will have to remain musteries
daniel: everyone has that problem with digimon world
nut: perhaps before giving bad advice you should check our bug tracker or forum for the 1000s of people with this problem in this game
July 25th, 2010 at 4:23 am
Nut : waks…
i’ve already try it.
but after i’ve play it again from beginning it error again?
must i delete n start again?? dis make me three times try delete it. lol
Z: zzz….
what about at game MegaMan Star Force – Dragon??!!
it can’t show my char at battle..
just HP point that show up in the fisrt screen n the floor, enemies, n my char all gone. it’s blank.
so wad bout dis prob??
anytin solution??
July 25th, 2010 at 8:23 am
Then I don’t know as I had never face this issue. Maybe look in the FAQ/forum for solutions? Helpful people there.
July 25th, 2010 at 9:04 am
Nut : if i speed up the game while i play it..
can it be the one who made dis prob??
July 25th, 2010 at 11:54 am
Speed has nothing to do with saves. read the FAQ or search the forum for your prob.
Also, the latest milestone build of desmume source is compatible with Visual Studio 2010 Professional. I tried compile the latest milestone and it went well.
July 26th, 2010 at 5:09 am
Also in my blog at http://www.supanut5.wordpress.com, I had gave your DeSmuMe a rating 10/10!
This shows that DeSmuMe is really good so keep this up!
I tested the latest milestone, milestone build 3723 and it works great, but a bit slower, but that doesn’t matter lol.
July 26th, 2010 at 9:45 pm
So because Antonio doesn’t know how to compile, he is unworthy of a computer and it’s operating system? Most computer user don’t know shit about compiling things. I really wish they did, but they don’t, and you don’t have to be rude about it.
On a side note, this is a great emulator. Keep up the good work.
July 30th, 2010 at 6:18 am
The only reason that I download emulators emulators is for YT lets plays. I own all the consoles, but don’t have a capture card lol. The emulator does not have its own icon though, and crashes a ton.
July 30th, 2010 at 9:45 am
I don’t know who’s crappy or old build youre using. It has an icon and it rarely crashes.
July 31st, 2010 at 1:19 am
Sagax04, you’l probably using the very old abandoned builds. Update to the latest official build or latest SVN to fix your crashes.

HELP how do i cofig the d-pad on an xbox controller?? running on mac. i get a numeric value of 256. 512, 768, 1024, when i touch anything on the d pad or analogues. THANKS FOR PORTING TO MAC
August 1st, 2010 at 8:26 pm
I have a mac and downloaded the binary for 0.9.6 and for some reason the “search option is grayed out. I was wondering why this was. Am I missing some file that enables this, or is this just not compatible with macs? I can get the cheat list, but it won’t let me do anything but “add cheat” and “remove cheat” but I can’t edit them to find the values to change! Thanks for your help.
August 1st, 2010 at 8:26 pm
thank you
August 1st, 2010 at 9:07 pm
sobes, get support from whomever gave you a driver for the microsoft controller on your macintosh. standard usb controllers work just fine.
nanocarp, it isnt compatible with macs.
August 2nd, 2010 at 8:26 am

This is magnificient!!
August 2nd, 2010 at 7:04 pm
hey!
thank u for this great piece of software!
i used to play pokémon soulsilver with version 0.9.4.
now i wanted to resume playing on 0.9.6 – but how can i use my old savegames with the new version?
could anyone please help me?
thanks in advance!
August 3rd, 2010 at 12:52 am
I don’t think you can import the save directly from 0.9.4;since the core has changed a lot since 0.9.4.
Maybe export your save to .sav format then import it into 0.9.6?
August 3rd, 2010 at 12:53 am
nut, everything you say is wrong. just stop talking. savegames from 0.9.4 magically work. if they dont magically work then check the path configuration and watch where desmume is creating .dsv files
August 3rd, 2010 at 2:10 pm
Oh yeah I forgot…sorry guys…
August 4th, 2010 at 3:12 am
Hello guys. I’m new to DS emulation on the PC (not emulation in general, just DS), so I was wondering, can DesMuME 0.9.6 run adequately on this laptop?
Specs:
2.1ghz dual core
2gb ram
128mb graphics card
August 4th, 2010 at 12:40 pm
Christopher: Try and find out.
August 4th, 2010 at 5:03 pm
Actually, I looked at the minimum requirements for playable speeds. And yes! My computer just barely passed!
August 4th, 2010 at 5:34 pm
so what? dont get too excited until youve tried and found out.
August 7th, 2010 at 12:58 am
Hi! I’ve tried this emulator and it works great, but i have a question: when i load a game this begin inmediately and i wanna watch the “principal window”, where the pictochat is avaible… so is possible to watch the Pictochat in this emulator (i got the last version:0.9.6)??? Where i can configure it?
Thanks and sorry for my english ^^’
August 7th, 2010 at 6:07 am
use external bios images, emulate swi from bios images, use external firmware, boot from firmware. dont ask for help.
August 18th, 2010 at 5:40 pm
Hi!
Umm..How can you add cheats on desmume?Like I open up cheats list but then i cant add cheats….
August 20th, 2010 at 2:01 am
Read the FAQ.
August 20th, 2010 at 2:26 pm
@Nut:
Yeah, yeah read the faq please if you cant answer questions dont waste space here with your stupid posts.
@Agent15642:
Cheats? If you cant add cheats in desmume what the hell can you do?
My anwer is go and read the f faq!
Cheers
August 21st, 2010 at 3:05 pm
ok
August 22nd, 2010 at 12:27 am
In the cheat dialog there is a button to add cheat.
The button are divided into types of cheat eg raw and ar cheats.
August 22nd, 2010 at 3:01 pm
@Nut
Well well nice job!
Bravo!
August 24th, 2010 at 10:38 am
I’m having a bit of an issue here, on the mac version where can I switch my old sav with the new one? I can’t find any application folder where to find the new save :\
If there’s a manual or something that would help a lot.
Aside from that it runs fine =o
August 24th, 2010 at 8:51 pm
there is plenty of documentation on this web site, some of which (the faq) includes the answer to your question
August 27th, 2010 at 1:26 am
Hi Guys,
I’ve got my NDS dead, I think because of the (in)famous fuse…
I’ve been following desmume development for months, I tried it time to time and it always worked flawlessy, on every pc (all linux-es). Now I’m experiencing some issue. Every roms I try to run, the pointer keep running in the lower left corner. It’s a pain. I looked around on the internet and I did not find anyone with the same problem.
I’m on Ubuntu 10.04 64bit on a black Macbook. I tried with the official ubuntu packages and also recompiling the last version from sources.
Any hint appreciated. And, btw, thanks for the great piece of software
August 27th, 2010 at 6:37 am
Is Desmume still getting good progress? I mean is it about ready for another stable release.? Just wondern.
August 27th, 2010 at 9:34 am
Yeah…the documentations are accessible from the home page.
The FAQ will answer most questions. But if not, read the manuals or ask on the forum.
August 27th, 2010 at 8:41 pm
For the MAC version, 70% of the time whenever I right click or try to click file, emulation, config, etc. the thing will freeze on me…. Is this a bug
August 28th, 2010 at 1:00 am
Is Desmume still getting good progress? I mean is it about ready for another stable release.? Just wondern.
Whenever it’s done.
August 28th, 2010 at 12:11 pm
Well they are at 3753 rev so they will propably stop at 3800/3900 to build the new version!
)
But that can take 2-3 months……..
But i dont care because the next time i will use desmume will be at pokemon black and white usa release (i suppose they will be both supported
August 28th, 2010 at 11:01 pm
i just have a thought like seriously desmume for the mac version should have a cheats list to use lie for pokemon soul silver its a waste to keeps training your pokemon for like 2 hours or so..
August 28th, 2010 at 11:01 pm
the lie part was supposed to be like sorry
August 29th, 2010 at 12:24 am
its a waste of time?
cheats take away the fun and challenge from games!
but thats my opinion….
August 29th, 2010 at 1:03 am
@Merc
I think so, they’ll probably compile the next RTM release at build 3800 or 3900;but who knows;we’ll have to follow up with the milestone builds.
August 29th, 2010 at 1:08 am
nut, quit speculating. we don’t even pay attention to build numbers.
August 29th, 2010 at 12:22 pm
@ agent15642: That’s the point of the game. train your pokemon to become stronger so you can progress further and that takes patience. deal with it.
August 29th, 2010 at 3:48 pm
but usually it takes 400 revisions for a release
August 29th, 2010 at 6:38 pm
according to my records: 418, 638, 593
August 30th, 2010 at 6:05 am
this emulator is freaking awesome!!!
hope you guys keeping the fabulous works
August 30th, 2010 at 12:38 pm
wow thanks for the info z!
August 30th, 2010 at 1:55 pm
I have problem. I play Yu-gi-oh WC 2010 A few minutes DeSmuME freeze.
August 31st, 2010 at 11:39 am
I believe you Z…from my experience it takes around your record…but I don’t think it can takes like 500-600 revisions before the final build…
Well…at some point in the past or future it might…
Anyway great to see that it is still in active development…
