What a pleasant surprise!
November 27th, 2009 at 9:52 pm
i lov you
November 27th, 2009 at 10:19 pm
Wow, thank you so much. A very pleasant surprise! My savestates may not work but I’ve just finished Ace Attorney (with the keyboard!) anyway. And Lua really seems to have been adopted by pretty much every single open-source gaming project, now hasn’t it?!
November 27th, 2009 at 10:31 pm
I’ve been waiting for this time.
November 27th, 2009 at 10:51 pm
Remember people to post the bug on the Desmume bugtracker on Sourceforge!
November 27th, 2009 at 11:23 pm
Cool stuff. And in b4 christmas as well! Great job, guys.
November 27th, 2009 at 11:49 pm
where can i download it because in the download section is not posted
November 28th, 2009 at 12:03 am
Download page updated
November 28th, 2009 at 1:55 am
A great day for a new release (Black Friday!!) Nice work guys we’re all supporting you.
November 28th, 2009 at 2:09 am
Wo! I had been waiting for 4 months and now the release had come! Thanks a lot for this release!
November 28th, 2009 at 2:36 am
I love you guys! In a beautiful but heterosexual way!
November 28th, 2009 at 5:52 am
i test all those roms that i have on the pc whit the new 0.9.5 but what a hell i lost alot of my save slot forget that i stay whit the same old 0.9.4 and there are too much settings to configure woot
November 28th, 2009 at 12:06 pm
THANKS A LOT
you’re the best
November 28th, 2009 at 12:07 pm
This release is the best release I had ever tried! I think this release 0.9.5 was a great successor to 0.9.4!
November 28th, 2009 at 12:38 pm
Why new version (0.9.5) can’t support old version (0.9.4) save slot (even the game own save files), is that anything we can do? (except to re-use old 0.9.4 version)
P/s I tested it in Kingdom Hearts 358/2 days and it say “error loading slot #” (# mean number of the slot, exp: slot 1)
November 28th, 2009 at 3:05 pm
r2991[support multiple game devices.]
PAD1(DPP+PS1PAD(Digital)) > (J0)Up~,(J0)Button1~
PAD2(DPP+PS1PAD(Analog)) > (J0(!))Up~,(J1)Button1~
It’s a Bug???
November 28th, 2009 at 3:47 pm
I love the cool desmume!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
November 28th, 2009 at 6:02 pm
Delles, the faq tells you not to use save files instead of save slots. I recommend using the old version and then saving the game, then switching to the new version to load your in-game save.
yok, I can’t decipher what you are saying. You would need to explain your configuration in detail. Preferably in the form of a bug report.
November 28th, 2009 at 7:15 pm
Sorry…SourceForge is too confusing.
Is there a bug in the key config of PAD2?
It is recognized that the X-Y axis of PAD2 is (J0).
Perhaps, the X-Y axis of PAD1 doesn’t work because of that.
From r2991.
November 28th, 2009 at 9:02 pm
zeromus, I used to load my game by in-game save before, but it seem like the new 0.9.5 version can’t detect the data (in-game save data, not Emulator save slot) from very beginning. (which is when loaded ROM to emulator)
P/s Sorry for bother you again. I will try other way to find out how to switch between them.
November 28th, 2009 at 9:15 pm
Zeromus, now I know the reason already.
The problem that causing that happen is because old 0.9.4 version save file (.dsv or .ds# files) is save in ROM folder, but the new 0.9.5 version is save in Emulator folder, it is why it can’t detect the save data.
Which is mean, we just need to cut (or copy if you wish to) and paste the save data to emulator folder, then the problem will fix~
If anyone have faces save data missing problem, you may try this out~ Belch you must try too~
November 29th, 2009 at 12:14 am
delles: alternatively you can try config > path settings
yok: there is always the chance that some weird gamepad configurations dont work, but you havent described your equipment so there is no way to verify it. There are no known bugs at this point.
November 29th, 2009 at 12:16 am
i can’t use my controller.. i’d rather use that than the keyboard, how do i do that?
November 29th, 2009 at 12:56 am
what i don’t understand what you mean but don’t worry i got the problem its the path settings (config >path settings on desmume) that why you don’t get the save slot and game save. to my it’s hard and stupit to work whit that. fine now i need to understand how thats work.
November 29th, 2009 at 1:07 am
wow i didn’t notice what zeromus say first of that path settings
November 29th, 2009 at 2:19 am
Congratulations on this release! The changelog is quite impressive! I love it and have had no problem so far, so thank you very much, and keep up the great work!
November 29th, 2009 at 3:38 am
Another cool thing I just discover is: since my version of Windows XP comes with Rocket doc, I can add desmume.exe to the launch toolbar and when I click on the desmume icon it will execute the emulator! That’s really cool! I do this so that I don’t have to navigate to the place where I kept the exe file. I can just start the emulator by clicking on the icon.
November 29th, 2009 at 7:34 am
The OS X binary offered is Intel-only. Are you having trouble building GTK-Quartz on OS X PPC?
November 29th, 2009 at 9:20 am
Zeromus, I know that way (path settings), but I still can’t get how it’s work.
No matter how I change the setting, it’s still detect (and create .dsv as well) its’ defaults path settings (which is “desmume-0.9.5-win32″ folder).
Also, some of the settings is unclear for me, like what is “Lua” and “States” for?
Is that any forums or site explain that?
P/s The old 0.9.4 version save slot (.ds#) is incompatible with new 0.9.5 version, but .dsv does. So, if anyone want to switch save data between them, you need to save your game in in-game save then move .dsv file to “desmume-0.9.5-win32″ folder in order to use it.
November 29th, 2009 at 9:58 am
Muchas Gracias!
Thank so much!
November 29th, 2009 at 11:31 am
Thank you so much for this release! Gonna try this instantly.
November 29th, 2009 at 12:46 pm
The OSX version acts weird. When i double-click on it, it bounces for a couple of seconds in the application bar and then closes immediately. Someone knows why?
I’m using an Intel mac with OSX 10.4.11.
November 29th, 2009 at 1:44 pm
WOW, a new improvement! 64-bit version are surely run faster and smoother that the 32-bit version. What happen to No$gba?? is he in jail or something?? f*cking bastard having been updating for years. I’m a new fan of DeSmuMe now. DeSmuMe can do everything now.
DeSmuMe ROCKS!!!. Now it can play almost every game that have capability problem. It can also save state! and do things when other emulators can not. Now u have filters, yayy!!!
I hope you get Codebreaker working soon. You’re the runner up for the best DS emulator! almost there, keep it up DeSmuMe group!!!
November 29th, 2009 at 2:41 pm
congratulations on the new release, i saw in the todo’s list that one of your targets is optimization, i hope you focus on it since the emulator is low to run the games i have here, thank you for your efforts in the emu and good luck.
November 29th, 2009 at 5:41 pm
soel: The osx build may not work in your osx version. I can’t get anyone to test mac builds until I release them so congrats, youre the tester. We’ll wait and see if anyone else has that problem.
delles: no forum or site goes into the excruciatingly noob level of detail necessary to describe those. use your imagination. those are other files which the emulator needs which may be in other places. states are for savestate slots. quit running the emulator directly from the zip file and extract it to a directory on your hard disk.
someone: i dont have a ppc osx to make the build on in the first place. I cant imagine that any ppc mac runs fast enough to play desmume very satisfactorily anyway. the intel osx build is made using the gtk supplied here: http://www.gtk-osx.org/ ; I do not even know whether it includes ppc binaries. If it does, then you should successfully be able to make a ppc build comparable to the intel build. Alternatively you could explore http://sourceforge.net/apps/trac/gtk-osx/wiki/Bundle but I am really burnt out on it by now, I hate osx.
November 29th, 2009 at 6:29 pm
Wow, the OS X version just got ugly. Yay!
November 29th, 2009 at 8:53 pm
Dave, the thrill of offending the aesthetic sense of osx users is what gets me out of bed every morning.
November 29th, 2009 at 11:16 pm
You know, Zeromus, that’s closed-minded, impolite, sadistic, and unfair. Find a new reason to get out of bed in the morning, rather than something only an immature fool would do.
November 30th, 2009 at 1:17 am
I tried this version, almost all the previous ‘no boot’ games are playable.
great jobs guys. so far only spot one major bug on the graphic side. the layers between the object/character’s shadow for most of the 3D games are confusely show. Those shadows are actually at the front of the character on the screen, cover the character’s lower body part. This is not a complaint, just for improvement purpose, simple bug report. Superb job done on the video and sound.

November 30th, 2009 at 2:09 am
I saw that you are waiting for more people to test out the Mac version. I’ve got Intel mac OSX 10.4.11 as well, it wont start up, and the app looks like its missing something for it to run (the icon is the blank page with the ‘A’). that’s that best I know about programming, or at least on mac, hope I helped. Best of luck!
November 30th, 2009 at 7:45 am
max g, which games? some games are programmed so that the shadow covers the character partly.
November 30th, 2009 at 9:53 am
i have downloaded the x64-version. but this version freeze my win7 x64 system after a while
November 30th, 2009 at 10:00 am
Yeah, DeSmuMe is really the best emulator in the world! It had beaten ideas and no$gba! Keep it up!
November 30th, 2009 at 12:03 pm
In the view>render, which filter offer the best image quality?
HQ2XS is the best ? Am I right ?
November 30th, 2009 at 1:27 pm
Another strange thing I found is that I can open desmume.exe in Resource Hacker! That’s cool man!
November 30th, 2009 at 1:45 pm
Nut: Hell, stop spamming. And opening it on resource hacker is useless if you’re not a loser that want’s to modify something easily done on code.
November 30th, 2009 at 1:49 pm
The GTK release to OSX is more to my liking
more features that I also had on GNU/Linux.
Anyway zeromus, do you know of anyway to set the emulator to save and load files from any other folder than the Desktop?
November 30th, 2009 at 2:37 pm
thanks for all this hard work, guys:)
November 30th, 2009 at 3:18 pm
My Xbox 360 controller acts like crazy
seems there are some problems on this version.
November 30th, 2009 at 3:38 pm
I wonder that when I start my system, why it takes sometimes for the desmume icon to appears? And when I try to execute it when the icons are not appeared, why it makes my computer hangs up? This never happens on the ones I had compiled including SVN. This persists from V0.9.4.
November 30th, 2009 at 7:09 pm
nut, i am going to start deleting your stupid comments like ‘Guess what I just found out! You can microwave pasta in water and it gets soft!’ so don’t bother posting them anymore. Youre having the problems youre having because of your virus scanner. Turn it off and the problems will go away.
xbox360, your 360 controller acts like crazy on which platform? I have one in windows and I can verify it.
Onizuka: try putting the app in a directory other than your desktop. Theres no way to change where the gtk version puts files.
Radar: Do you think we would have put 20 filters there if one of them offered the “best” image quality? It is a matter of preference and everyone feels differently.
Rene: Try a different game, or else your system is overheating. Also try switching to softrasterizer
November 30th, 2009 at 7:11 pm
I have an interesting problem it seems as I cant find it listed here. When I load a file 0.9.5 its choppy and the colours are all off, like they are sepia washed. However if I load the same game in 0.9.4 No visual problems, no colour bath and no choppyness, am I missing a setting to change here? or is it just that I downloaded the wrong version? I couldnt find anything but the binary versions that actuall contained an executable file
November 30th, 2009 at 7:35 pm
Thanks for the update! This is best NDS emulator!
I don’t know if the rewind function is broken. It can only rewind for a second or two. Maybe they’ll be fixed on 096
REQ: Hopefully the frameskip options gets merged into 1 submenu.
Looking forward on anisotropic filter ;D
November 30th, 2009 at 8:06 pm
ah, thanks zeromus, solved the problem, it stores the save files in the folder in the level beneath the location of the app
November 30th, 2009 at 10:00 pm
How do I configure it to use my xbox360 controller? I’ve checked through all the settings, and really can’t figure it out…Sorry if this is a stupid question, but I’d really like some help.
December 1st, 2009 at 12:25 am
@FlyingTackle
Go to Config -> Control Config
Make sure you’ve connected ur 360 controller before starting Desmume. Click on the DS button you want to set in the config so that it is highlighted green. Click whatever button on your 360 controller that u want to map the DS button to, and it should change to (J0)Button 0 or something. Do that for all of them and ur rdy to go
December 1st, 2009 at 12:27 am
Great surprise, the games run nice even with renders filters, thanks
December 1st, 2009 at 12:48 am
im having a problem i downloaded the mac version and onl an app doc shows up i click it to run desmume but it does not starts up, i must ask with wich version this program is universal? 10.5-10.6? or 10.4-10.5-10.6? any answers will sufice, hope its not much of a bother
December 1st, 2009 at 1:28 am
First I want to congratulate author(s) and contributors for this awesome release. A lot of improvements.
I’m specially happy with the BIG improvements on GBA slot support: 0.9.5 now allows GBA->NDS pokemon migration.
The migration process fails at the end (“Save failed”) because the emu doesn’t allow/support writting to the GBA save file (required to delete the migrated pokemon). But the pokemon data is actually transfered to the NDS save. You just need to hex edit the NDS save to make the save block (there are 2) getting the migrated pokemon to be the “current” one.
I’ve also found that you can’t migrate if you set the emu to use an actual firmware dump: emulation freezes on first migration screen. There is no problem if you use actual ARM9 + ARM7 dumps.
Once again thank you and keep the good work.
December 1st, 2009 at 1:46 am
Hi Zeromus, games like dragon ball origins, mario kart… most noticeably is dragon ball origins. mario kart, you can clearly see during the car select page, the texture on the car is dark grey because the shadow is at the front of the car from our view. it should be at the back. correct me if i’m wrong. have a nice day!
December 1st, 2009 at 2:21 am
XMSFel6: Thanks so much! I appreciate the help. :]
December 1st, 2009 at 4:39 am
Fifa 10 still can’t playable…
however, i still thank you and cheer for you hard work.
December 1st, 2009 at 4:42 am
Well, at first I was saddened that save files are yet again new and not compatible, but I was able to load my save state file. Yay. Also, the new version includes path config now as I remember posting about a while back on the forums. guess I need a faster than 2.7ghz dual core as a single core to get better fps, or perhaps a faster gfx card. i have the radeon 4550.
Nice update though, congrats!
December 1st, 2009 at 7:37 am
max g, why dont you use the software rasterizer, which has more accurate shadows.
duncan, it would seem that it only works on 10.5 and newer, that seems to be the general consensus.
Avendarian, why dont you check the faq where it discusses whacked out colours
December 1st, 2009 at 11:33 am
Kev: Save file is working. Just put the .dsv file in the emulator’s folder, then the saves will work. Quit running it directly from a zip archive.
December 1st, 2009 at 1:09 pm
One problem – enabling fog in the software rasterizer slows down some games (like any stage in Elite Beat Agents) down by a huge amount.
December 1st, 2009 at 1:23 pm
Actually this problem seems to be unrelated to 3d or fog and is much more weird:
After enetering a stage in Elite Beat Agents, the fps slows down to about 34. When I enter 3D settings and press “ok” (without changing anything), it shoots up to ~80 (as in previous revisions).
December 1st, 2009 at 3:57 pm
How can you get to 80FPS?
December 1st, 2009 at 4:40 pm
personperson thats a helpful bug report, the texture cache must be malfunctioning and entering the 3d config resets it. thanks for letting us know
December 1st, 2009 at 8:44 pm
thanks zeromus, i wonder why the title says universal wereas its not.
also from wich version i can use it on macintosh 10.4? as far as i remember the 0.8 version still were compatible.
December 1st, 2009 at 10:29 pm
which title says universal? I didnt write universal anywhere. 0.9.4 might work on 10.4
December 2nd, 2009 at 2:35 am
nice release, but where’s the speed? new super mario bros runs still way too slow…
December 2nd, 2009 at 8:26 am
It doesn’t correspond to file (directory) Japanese name. “ポケモン. ”
It was possible to read in 0.9.4.
December 3rd, 2009 at 3:43 am
Got OSX Leopard here. It works, but unfortunately the program runs slow to the point of being unusable, and I’m using a Mac Pro quad-core. I wasn’t expecting the level of customization the Win version has, but there doesn’t even seem to be a way to change the save/load directories, so everything’s stuck on the desktop. Along with that, the program will randomly freeze when selecting menu items.
I’ll be sticking with the Windows build for a while longer, looks like.
December 3rd, 2009 at 2:52 pm
i cant find the application that opens demume when i extract the files anyone know why?
December 3rd, 2009 at 11:15 pm
jp: I don’t understand.
Rusty, that sounds about right. It is sort of junky. I think it dumps files in the directory of the app, which is normal and desireable for emulators though maybe not what you expect. Just move it off your desktop and the savefiles won’t dump to your desktop anymore. Regarding the other items, at least it is usable under some circumstances, which as far as I know, the old cocoa port was not. But if you can use the windows build, when it comes to this emulator, for the entire foreseeable future you’d be insane to use any other build.
yp: go buy windows for dummies and learn how to use a computer.
December 4th, 2009 at 2:15 am
I’m a noob. Which one should I download if I have windows 7
December 4th, 2009 at 5:50 am
I’m using Windows 7 ultimate x64, and my controller is HORI EX2 XBOX360 pad.
please help me!
December 4th, 2009 at 6:08 am
It seems that you need to still unplug other game devices.
December 4th, 2009 at 9:04 am
Thanks guys for releasing the best version of desmume
December 4th, 2009 at 9:08 am
Is there any save dile converter
December 4th, 2009 at 9:41 am
Blue: Take a bit of time to think before asking…
December 4th, 2009 at 12:28 pm
i am a bit late to the party. hurray! what a surprise. thank you developers of desmume. go open source go. this release is absolutely amazing
December 4th, 2009 at 2:57 pm
Hmm. Either i suck at this, while failing to remember how to do, or something’s wrong. The fifth case in phoenix wright:ace attorney seems unsolvable. >_>
You’re supposed to rotate a wallet until a person points out the opener thingy on it, but nothing is happening.
December 4th, 2009 at 6:39 pm
Yeah, managed to solve it by using no$gba. DeSmuME seems not to detect the cursor correctly. For reference, here’s the part:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EOu-SRo5m40#t=0m45s
December 4th, 2009 at 7:54 pm
That seems unlikely. Have you used the firmware, which is prone to break the touch input?
December 4th, 2009 at 9:50 pm
If it’s the same bug as the one depicted in this thread http://forums.desmume.org/viewtopic.php?id=191 (which seems so), it’s not related to input
December 4th, 2009 at 10:12 pm
uhhh hm. I don’t get it, whats the bug? Is it one of the 3d tests? Now we have the gear to easily implement those correctly, but apart from boxtest they havent been verified very well.
December 4th, 2009 at 11:41 pm
It’s exactly that. I was just wildly guessing on what was wrong and hoped I would hit it. : P
Hmm… in mid ‘07, it was apparently partially fixed, but something was wrong(according to that topic). Must be one tough one to crack. : /
December 5th, 2009 at 7:47 am
it was the vectest–now that i have a test case to check, it is fixed (at least for this case, but probably for all others) in r3114. thanks for posting and for the memory
December 5th, 2009 at 10:58 am
Is anyone else experiencing worse fps and lag on 0.9.5? I’ve tried multiple combination of settings to no avail.
December 5th, 2009 at 7:26 pm
Nice. =)
December 6th, 2009 at 12:22 am
Is desmume universal or not? it seems that on my PPC it does not support my architecture. is there a Desmume out or coming out that runs on PPCs?
thanks
December 6th, 2009 at 12:38 am
Disregard, I managed to corrupt my save file and it was affecting the gameplay.
December 6th, 2009 at 5:51 am
I unplugged the ohter controller, and finally it works!
Thank you a lot!
December 6th, 2009 at 4:00 pm
Hi there, just wondering about the speed of Desmume, No$gba uses some kind of thing that can run the game at exactly the right speed or even faster, couldn’t you do that with Desmume? By the way, great emu, I like the graphic update from version 0.9.4 to 0.9.5. Thanks for a great emu.
December 6th, 2009 at 4:37 pm
max, its not universal. it doesnt say its universal.
December 6th, 2009 at 5:30 pm
What about the miocrophone?
In zelda I have to blow in the microphone to play the instument.
What do i do on the computer?
December 6th, 2009 at 5:42 pm
It`s ok, i got it
December 7th, 2009 at 7:01 am
0.9.4 runs better than 0.9.5, as does the compiled SVN version. Why is that?
December 7th, 2009 at 8:06 am
Cool.. finally new release… goodness gracias…
December 7th, 2009 at 9:12 pm
mike, i guess we just picked a bad day to release.
December 8th, 2009 at 3:28 am
I think most of people here already realize that this version does not run better…. no, this version run better than the last one IF you have powerful pc. 0.9.5 consume more processor power than 0.9.4 version. The most important thing is it able to play a lot more games than the last one. resident evil deadly silence with no character in the game…or the character is actually at the back layer of the enviroment?
December 8th, 2009 at 10:25 am
I agree. This version runs much better than the previous version. Those people that says that this version runs worst because they’re PCs is not good enough to handle it. In my Pokemon Heart Gold, I got the highest FPS of around 60 and lowest around 57 or 58 which is very fast already. Keep up your amazing work!
December 8th, 2009 at 2:16 pm
Emm, there is 5 choice at the download link, which one should i choose ?
December 8th, 2009 at 2:40 pm
I got it now, thanks^^ for the emulator
December 8th, 2009 at 3:43 pm
@shash: i’ve checked on the lastest SVNs for Phoenix Wright the wallet part and works fine like in the video.
December 9th, 2009 at 3:46 am

I love this emulator!!!
Although the Pokemon games run too slow to play with enjoyment, I still am grateful that there is even an osx build.
Ill just wait for the time being until the version improves or i finally get a windows cd and use bootcamp
December 9th, 2009 at 4:20 am
oh incase u dont know by reading my comment i am a mac user
December 9th, 2009 at 5:01 am
Is there some sort of speedup or turbo ? I’m sure I’m not the only one that hates having to watch videos or wait through enemies’ ridiculously long attacks? I see some things in the hotkey configuration, but none of them seem to do what I’m trying to do.
December 9th, 2009 at 7:30 am
someone, hold down tab. thats the best you can do, if youve already followed the suggestions in the faq for speeding things up.
hasheesh, thats not our problem. consult a windows support group. dont use removable disks, or run directly from zipfiles, but rather work in a directory on your hard disk.
December 9th, 2009 at 2:56 pm
Hi, i have a problem!
Not even any windows appears!
I downloaded DeSmuME 0.9.5 on Windows XP an clicked on DeSmuME.exe, but nothing happens
What can I do?
December 9th, 2009 at 11:58 pm
The OSX version may have gone uglier, but it plays SO MUCH BETTER!!
December 10th, 2009 at 3:46 am
Nice nice.. compared to older versions, this is breakthrough.
But, it’s still far from being perfect. Same no$gba performance wise is far more superior than DSME0.9.5. Hope it’s not for long and open source community will speed things up little
Waiting with impatience for next release.
December 10th, 2009 at 9:56 am
the most important update to me is th customizable screen layout
thank you vry much!!
December 10th, 2009 at 11:37 am
I think desmume was the only DS emulator that still updating! because I think ideas had stop updating since I hear no news from ideasemu.org. Keep up your good work! You are the only hope of the good DS emulator!
December 10th, 2009 at 6:00 pm
hello! i’ve got a problem with this emulator… i’ve downloaded this and the 0.9.4 version and tried to use action replay codes on both, but it just don’t work! i’m emullating Rune Factory: A Fantasy Harvest Moon.
The most intrigant thing about it it’s that i’ve had sucess on this before… but got troubles and my pc was formated. could you guys help me?
thanks!!
December 11th, 2009 at 12:44 am
Well,
I got this new 0.9.5 version.
And I played several roms. They al work!:)
But…. It run slow not at the speed it should be.
I have a Core2duo t8100 2.1 ghz with 4gb
Windows vista 32 bit version.
I saw some people runnin it at normal speed on youtube.
Can someone help me out please?
greets,
LM
December 11th, 2009 at 6:09 am
i have only a few nintendo ds games, and they are all working out fine with desmume (except Pokemon Platinum; it’s slow, but i don’t play it on pc), so i don’t have any performance complain.
but i do have suggestions for 0.9.6:
- Separate windows sizing (separate sizing for top screen and bottom screen) like in no@zoomer for no$gba
- unique settings for different games
thank you and please keep updating this excellent emulator, you’ve all done a great job ^_^
December 11th, 2009 at 12:11 pm
Please create .deb file
Very good job. Go go realase next better version ^^
December 11th, 2009 at 4:56 pm
LM your system does not meet the recommended specs. Why do you think it should run at full speed? The folks running it at normal speed may have a 2x faster cpu than you. Also they may have recorded an AVI at lower speed which plays back at full speed.
December 12th, 2009 at 2:14 am
The OS X version is pretty redundant now. Not only is it ugly as hell and completely “un-native” it still runs worse than No$GBA running through pretty much any version of Wine
December 13th, 2009 at 1:16 am
Is it possible for desmume to take better advantage of multi-core processors or perhaps things like OpenCL?
December 13th, 2009 at 1:19 am
Sure, it is. Are you volunteering to do the work?
December 13th, 2009 at 5:05 am
a fan here..
just wanted to ask why kingdom hearts 358/2 days runs a bit slow.. is there a way that it can speed up? or it can’t run this game in normal speed yet? i’m just asking because i am trying to play this game right now but it is slow. what can i do to make it play faster.
i am not complaining or anything. I’m just asking if anything can be done..
because the other games that I’m playing are going smoothely.
please help..
thanks..
December 13th, 2009 at 11:45 am
Zeromus, can you play desmume at full speed at your comp,
With roms if you know what i mean;)
December 13th, 2009 at 4:03 pm
how configure one it wifi?
December 15th, 2009 at 1:04 am
just a question, why desmume spends 47.368 KB of RAM while opened without running any game, just opened while no$gba spends only 7.940 KB?
December 15th, 2009 at 2:14 am
because nobody really cares how much memory desmume uses when it runs, so long as it is reasonable, and 40MB or so is reasonable.
December 15th, 2009 at 11:55 pm
i see, just thought it was strange a program consuming so much whitout doing anything, the majority of the programs arent like that, thanks for the answer zeromus.
December 16th, 2009 at 12:08 am
Felipe: Most of the programs I use every day consume from 2x to 10x that, MINIMUM.
December 16th, 2009 at 12:15 am
I can give you a more satisfying answer. You can allocate memory ahead of time, or you can allocate it when you need it. If you allocate it when you need it, it slows things down. Now, which would you have me do?
December 16th, 2009 at 12:45 am
good!!!!!!!!!!!!!
December 16th, 2009 at 1:20 am
If you want you speed up desmume press the + Button on your keyboard every time you press it increase your speed by a small amount.
December 16th, 2009 at 3:25 am
shash: you use programs like autocad, maya and stuff?
zeromus: do as you please, i was curious because of the difference of size between desmume and no$gba, while running a game too desmume spends 116 MB RAM while no$gba spends 80 MB RAM, just curious, it could be a bug, need for optimization or not.
December 16th, 2009 at 9:09 pm
Felipe: Visual Studio, maya, 3dsmax, and other that are worse
Any way, on current PCs, a difference of 30MB it’s not something any developer cares much, more keeping in mind that this is developed on free time as a hobby.
December 16th, 2009 at 11:14 pm
“Felipe: Visual Studio, maya, 3dsmax, and other that are worse Any way, on current PCs, a difference of 30MB it’s not something any developer cares much”
shash: i see, just as i thought.
“more keeping in mind that this is developed on free time as a hobby.”
shash: believe me, i know that.
December 16th, 2009 at 11:20 pm
I here that my desmume 9.5 will not start the screens are yellow with a catch in right and that takes 9.4 .-.
December 17th, 2009 at 5:51 am
thanks for that
works very great with Zelda Spirit Tracks and New Mario Brothers. only thing thats not working for me are the “RT” and “LT” at my xbox360 controller
December 18th, 2009 at 1:37 am
I think there’s a problem with the OSX version. I downloaded it and it just doesn’t won’t open; the system just doesn’t recognize it as a program. I’m running Mac OSX Tiger. [OSX 1.4]
December 18th, 2009 at 9:51 am
With V0.9.5, Fast forwarding key and frameskip 5 I get up to 73-74 FPS!
December 18th, 2009 at 9:56 am
Oops to dubble post, but just to make it clear on my previous comment, I ment that fast forwarding key + frameskiping 5 makes me got up to 73-74 FPS. DeSmuMe is getting better and faster for me! Hope next version I can achieve 80 or 100 FPS!
December 18th, 2009 at 2:32 pm
Looking at all the posts, I can’t help but think “Grumpy Coders Make Awesome Software”.
Then again, not everyone seems to be asking intelligent questions.
Keep up the great work.
December 19th, 2009 at 3:17 pm
Why doesn’t the “Force as Curren” option exists in 0.9.5? In the changelog file it says that this option is included. Please can you add this option in the RR build or 0.9.6?
December 19th, 2009 at 3:56 pm
how do i save it? like i am playing the world ends with you and i click save in slot one, close the program, come back later and it will not load. please reply
December 19th, 2009 at 6:25 pm
N2039, why do you need it? Load your savestate in 0.9.4-rr and use force as current in that version, then copy your savefile to 0.9.5
December 20th, 2009 at 12:28 am
Z: Thanks! If I ever have problem with my saves, I can transfer my Pokemon saves to 0.9.4+RR to fix it, then transfer it back to 0.9.5. But, does 0.9.4+RR be able to lode an 0.9.5 savestates? Because on the FAQ, it says that it can lode only 0.9.4 savestate, and the steps to solve the problem involved loding savestate too.
December 20th, 2009 at 5:08 am
Dear DeSmuME teams,
Please can you add mic for right button on mouse to blow/horn to make loud without add mic to our computer. I think it should be great for us.
Like on Zelda, Yoshi and some other games.
Please can you add mic for right button on mouse? Please do it! I want see your news release next new version like DeSmuME 0.9.6 and newer!!! People should get more happy for issues to get fixed on next new version of DeSmuMe emulator.
Left button button on mouse is use for to touch anything. Keep on default setting all times.
Don’t forget fix issues, what people have problems with DeSmuME emulator.
Please do it! I beg you!
I love DeSmuME teams a lot!!!
December 20th, 2009 at 6:59 am
0.9.4 certainly cannot load 0.9.5 savestates. It isn’t possible to have problems with in-game saves in 0.9.5
December 20th, 2009 at 1:49 pm
Please keep updating desmume, it is turning out great! Looking forward to 0.9.20 which by that time, it should run games perfectly with wifi acording to the post on the forum, which is 7 years away, which is not too far.
December 20th, 2009 at 5:36 pm
@N2039: that’s sarcasm. Zeromus want to say that nothing is planned about wifi, could be tomorrow (quite impossible), 3 month later or 4 years later. People forget about wifi for now.
December 21st, 2009 at 12:04 am
So, wifi is possible on desmume, but no one knows when it is done. We can only wait.
December 21st, 2009 at 3:31 am
Splendid work! this version sure is a lot better than NOGBA!
December 21st, 2009 at 4:18 am
dude i downloaded one and its going ssooo slow!!! the game play that is … everything else is normal speed!!
December 21st, 2009 at 11:10 am
Yeah, this version has completely wins No$gba! Keep updating this emu! You are the only hope of a good DS emulation on PC!
December 21st, 2009 at 11:39 am
I play Yu Gi Oh GX spirit caller and at the duel state it running very slow, someone can tell me??why….
December 21st, 2009 at 9:04 pm
You need a decent PC to use Desmume >2,4Ghz. Also using frameskipping (max 9) could improve your experience.
December 22nd, 2009 at 1:41 am
aaaaaaaaa i using frameskip max 9,and the effect become worst.my specific computer
Intel(R)
Pentium(R) 4 CPU 3.00GHz
2.99GHz,0.99 of RAM
Physical Address Extension
Any wrong with that specific?????????????
December 22nd, 2009 at 5:32 am
yeah your cpu is too slow. frameskip may improve or unimprove it depends on the game and the speed and your personal opinion. maybe you should check the faq for tips on how to speed up the emulator.
December 22nd, 2009 at 6:06 am
ew,I play with no$gba the speed is rather good than it,anyone can tell me why is run like that?????the speed normal with no$gba.
December 22nd, 2009 at 6:13 am
I have a single core WinXP, 3.0 Ghz with ATI card that runs full speed on no$gba but at half the speed for desmume compared tomy Vista 2 core, 2.53Ghz with nVidia card that run full speed.
Probably desmume has higher requirement compared to no$gba and maybe it loves nVidia card more than ATI card.
December 22nd, 2009 at 9:52 am
Desmume Emulator don’t have problems with Dual Core with 3 GHz. I already test on my Intel Core 2 Duo 3.16 GHz and speed is normal and smooth. No issue on Dual Core. No slow down!
DELL XPS 630i with INTEL Core 2 Duo 3.16 GHz with 6 MB Cache, 4 GB RAM DDR2 @ 800 MHz, Nvidia 9800 GX2 with 1 GB GDDR3. Operating System(OS): Windows XP.
Already test running Desmume emulator and I saw Intel Core 2 Duo is on 25 to 34%! I happy with it! I notice my old computer with Pentium 4 get 100% on my older 8 years DELL computer is now know minimum system requirement.
I have no problems on my DELL computer. Work fine. No complaint period. If you have single core is slow, and you need Dual Core and better Nvidia 6 Series and above will do great work for everyone. I have another computer with one core and slow. Pentium 4 with 1.6 GHz is slow because speed and memory are not enough – 256 KB Cache. You need Dual Core which have 2 MB Cache or more. Example: Pentium D, Core 2 Duo, Core 2 Quad, Core i5 and above will be fine.
Please try on Dual Core, Nvidia Series 6 and above will be fine to running Desmume emulator more smooth without lag.
Nvidia is more powerful than ATI video card as I know.
System required for Desmume emulator I found my between old and new computers with Windows XP, let me write down for system requirement for DeSmuMe emulator:
Minimum system:
Intel Pentium 4 @ 1.6 GHz with 256 KB Cache, 512 MB memory RAM SDRAM or DDR1 (Old), Nvidia FX 5600 Series with 256 MB with GDDR or GDDR2 (Old).
Recommend system:
Intel Pentium D(Dual Core) @ 3 GHz with 2 MB Cache or Core 2 Duo(Dual Core) @ 3 GHz with 6 MB Cache, 1 GB memory RAM DDR2(Dual Channel) and above, Nvidia 6600 Series with 256 MB GDDR3 and above.
I already answer which are minimum and recommend system. I glad to solve my problems how stronger computer what we need. I hope my answer help you!
Wink!
Hey DeSmuMe teams! Happy Christmas and New Year 2010 to you! Wish you have fun time on holiday!
Wink!
December 22nd, 2009 at 7:19 pm
Is there a possibility to imitate blow in Desmume 0.9.5 on Osx ? Because I a fan of Zelda and I can’t blow on the candles in Phantom Hourglass or Blow in my Panflute in Spirit Tracks… It’s frustrating. Just a blow and I can play my favorite game.
Please ! Help mac users.
December 22nd, 2009 at 8:35 pm
Please build an PowerPC Mac OS X! This is a great emulator on my iMac but I want it for my G5!
greetings
December 25th, 2009 at 12:35 am
Merry Christmas DeSmuMe Team! Hope you have good time!
December 25th, 2009 at 2:50 pm
Hello, I have a problem.
When I start any rom it starts but when I run mario and luigi inside bowser’s storycenter and well it does not start: the screen remains blank.
December 25th, 2009 at 7:28 pm
Quit using a version of the emulator that you found buried in a cave along with mammoth bones. Alternatively, choose software rasterizer instead of opengl.
December 26th, 2009 at 8:50 am
Long time no see everyone! Merry Christmas to all and keep up the great work! I started college so I haven’t had much time to play games too much but I still love what you guys are doing. =)
December 26th, 2009 at 11:45 am
Well, i run it through a core2quad q66
It works superb! Only thing. Why doesn’t desmume save?
Every game works just as fast as on the ds.
December 27th, 2009 at 6:09 am
how can i contrbute ?
i love this but it’s not entirely perfect…
December 28th, 2009 at 4:47 am
I have to ask, since this is open source. I can play around with the code right?
December 28th, 2009 at 2:36 pm
Sam: Yes, you can, just go to the sourceforge project page and look out for the svn url. Or you can use the 0.9.5 source code, available directly from the download section on the main page.
December 29th, 2009 at 1:13 am
You can also modify the source code.
December 29th, 2009 at 1:58 am
That’s great!
Thanks
December 31st, 2009 at 6:45 pm
Hello guys,
Haw can I use teh microphone in desmume 0.9.5 based on work by Jopjop?
It doesn´t work, and I would need it for the game Zelda on a Mac.
Thanks for your help and I wish you all a happy new Year!!!
Greetz
January 1st, 2010 at 1:00 am
Happy new year DeSmuMe team! Hope to see new release soon.
January 1st, 2010 at 9:24 am
Happy new year nut! Hope to see my tip jar filled soon.
January 1st, 2010 at 11:32 am
Happy new year you too!
January 4th, 2010 at 8:46 pm
currently the best nds emu surpassed cash finally thnx
January 5th, 2010 at 3:06 pm
Hello,
Does desmume save just like the ds does or do you have to save state?
please answer.
January 5th, 2010 at 4:47 pm
LM: It’s explained on the wiki, go read: http://wiki.desmume.org/index.php?title=Main_Page
January 5th, 2010 at 6:05 pm
Thnaks I see,
Well i have to be more accurate, I played desmume on a 32bit vista system intel q6600 and when i played on that computer it doesn´t make ingame saves.
I have a computer Q8300 well here it works with in game saves. Thats my problem, does someone know how this comes…
January 7th, 2010 at 2:41 am
What the hell? I download the OSX version and it says “not supported on this architecture” I’m running Tiger. Does it only work on Leopard?
Please respond!
January 7th, 2010 at 3:39 am
Thanks for your generosity.
This is a great present for New Year.
January 7th, 2010 at 3:21 pm
Yeah, a best new year gif.
January 7th, 2010 at 10:03 pm
personman, it doesnt support PPC macs. the OS isn’t what matters there.
January 11th, 2010 at 10:22 am
I muast say I am really loving your DS emulator. Version 0.9.4 (on OS X) that is. It works liek a charm. I can not get 0.9.5 to work at all on OS X. So for ther time being I’ll stick to the slightly earlier release. Till the next release and hipefully it’ll work.
Still thanks for a nice DS emulator.
January 11th, 2010 at 1:20 pm
Version 0.9.5 has completely superceeded 0.9.4!
Version 0.9.5 is the most successful version of desmume you had ever produced! Hope 0.9.6 would be more successful than this!
January 11th, 2010 at 2:03 pm
I jsut removed it from my harddrive, en downloaded it again.
Ingame saves are working now:) You guys did a great job on this.
Why dus desmume needs a fast cpu to run 60fps?
January 13th, 2010 at 7:35 am
DELL Netbook – Dual atom processor @ 1.6ghz, 1 GB RAM DDR2, 256 MB Intel graphic card. I got netbook today. Bad on some games. Weird things.
$150 for my P3 Netbook.
Screenshot proof:

My netbook is worst. LOL
January 13th, 2010 at 10:06 am
Of course, desmume ain’t suppose to perform better on a netbook. Try it on the desktop, and it will run perfectly.
January 13th, 2010 at 9:47 pm
Under Linux, I made a build with SSE and SSE2 extensions enabled and it really became faster.
I checked with a first configure which CFLAGS would be added by default into the Makefile, and then I just added the -msse and -msse2 like this:
$ export CFLAGS=”-g -O2 -msse -msse2″; export CXXFLAGS=”-g -O2 -msse -msse2″; ./configure
Thanks a lot for deSmuME!
January 14th, 2010 at 5:36 am
I agree with Nut. But Netbook are more cheaper and afford.
I have 3 desktop computers with XP. All working fine on DeSmuMe Emulators.
I notice few bug with my Nvidia 9800GX2 (This have two cards together know like SLI) when play New Super Mario Bros. DS on SeSmuME emulator and I sometimes lost control on arrows buttons when move (More than 1 button of arrow keys on keyboard). I just let everyone know. Problems with Nvidia SLI that why cause control not work good, but well and not prefect. Have to press one button at time for SLI. Strange things on Nvidia SLI mode.
I hope DeSmuMe fix problems next new version for SLI mode. Better to add new setting in emulator – Nvidia or ATI SLI – You can turn SLI on or off(Use one card) to fix problems.
Also don’t forget add mic for right button on mouse without add mic to our computer. How about that? I think it should be great for everyone!
January 14th, 2010 at 8:16 am
desmume isn’t going to add an sli mode. get a better keyboard.
January 15th, 2010 at 10:41 am
1.Thanx for 0.9.5 2.Happy new year!
3.I Want Pokemon Soul Silver (E)
4.DeSmuME with full working wi-fi
January 16th, 2010 at 2:47 am
No, wifi won’t be in the next release. It will be in when it’s done, probably by 2016, which is around 6 years from now. Wait patiently, as wifi is a lot of work, and it is not easy to do.
January 16th, 2010 at 7:29 am
bad news, nut. it has been rescheduled for 2027 now.
January 16th, 2010 at 2:35 pm
Cool! I will wait until that time!
January 18th, 2010 at 6:21 pm
With 0.9.5, I can say that Desmume has finally caught up with no$gba.
Desmume 0.9.6 will overtake no$gba.
The NDS handheld platform is still going strong after so many years; no doubt it is a great time for NDS emulation.
Take your time with 0.9.6, but don’t take too long. Most importantly, have fun.
January 18th, 2010 at 8:36 pm
hey
my laptop can only support 16bits color….
I think this is the reason cause the color of emulator spoil…..
The color like yellow color…..
is there any ways to solve this problem????
January 19th, 2010 at 12:20 am
RoA, wait for the next version
January 19th, 2010 at 9:25 am
Yeah, DeSmuMe 0.9.5 had completely superceeded No$gba and iDeaS! Hope to see more features added in 0.9.6 and later!
January 19th, 2010 at 8:40 pm
nut, shut up unless you have something new to say. the first 100 times you said the same exact thing i was willing to ignore it, but now at the 101st it is driving me insane.
January 19th, 2010 at 9:54 pm
I have a Dual Core 1.8Ghz, 3GB RAM, and 256MB Nvidia video, and Desmume still run slower than No$Gba =(
My video card is reaaaaaallly old… maybe is that, I just hate the idea of Desmume eating that amount of resources to work right.
January 19th, 2010 at 11:14 pm
No$gba sucks, the only benefit is that it doesn´t require as much cpu usage as desmume.
January 20th, 2010 at 6:54 pm
aw man i hate why i have to lose my old savestate from desmume its there another way to get them back like a convert software to everyone can use them old savestate back from 0.9.4 to 0.9.5
January 20th, 2010 at 11:27 pm
Hey Javier, Your video card isn´t the big problem, it´s your processor speed, that lags. If you have a high eind core 2 duo processor or a qore 2 quad or higher it wil run smoothly.
January 21st, 2010 at 7:14 pm
taran, not possible. the formats are incompatible.
January 22nd, 2010 at 10:51 am
Also, check the FAQ. The question is fully answered there. Also, I don’t care about savestate, I care only about the savegame file.
January 23rd, 2010 at 2:38 am
ok i understand now about that and nut i know what you mean i read only what i find important to my self
January 23rd, 2010 at 11:54 am
I downloaded this and now I can’t find where to open it…All the folders are just files and not applications..
January 23rd, 2010 at 12:45 pm
Hey guys,
Don´t get angry on me please, but does the mic in desmume work?
Because if it does, i will get a microphone. But if it doesn’t i don’t need one
hope someone helps me out.
January 23rd, 2010 at 4:36 pm
Yes it works, it is known to work since 0.9.1 era, but only on the Windows port until now. If you’re on a Mac or Linux, then you will have to wait until 0.9.6 comes out.
January 24th, 2010 at 7:37 am
DeSmuME 0.9.5 I waiting for you so long time.Thank you So much !
January 24th, 2010 at 8:27 am
Why not have a simple manual with a short description of each function and a list of hotkeys. I had to fiddle with the thing until i found out that f1 is load state1 and shift+f1 is save state1. like wtf isn’t that in the readme or somewhere?
January 24th, 2010 at 12:49 pm
Thanks Nut, only one question left, I have a lot of roms,
but when i try M&L bowsers inside story, it will work around 30 to 50 fps.
most of the time 30 fps, other games work straight on with 60 fps, like yoshi’s island and kirby’s superstar ultra. How does this come, does desmume not support every game yet?
January 24th, 2010 at 8:20 pm
George, you mean like in README.WIN which is packaged with the release?
January 24th, 2010 at 8:20 pm
LM, thats just how emulation works. Quit worrying about it.
January 24th, 2010 at 10:07 pm
I have a 2.6 p4, 1G, xp. Order of Ecclesia runs slow as hell. Is it just because the emulator isn’t mature enough yet?
January 25th, 2010 at 1:37 am
the emulator is mature. your system is slow.
January 25th, 2010 at 9:03 am
no escape from unstable speed while running different games….this version is a processor power sucker, you want to play it nice and stable, must have at least quad core processor, i7 run so fine. or wait for newer version in the future. many games run and play so fine (I mean many many many games ) great job, guys!!!
January 25th, 2010 at 12:08 pm
Okay Zeromus I understand.
Max G, that’s not totally true, most games run fine at 60 fps on a c2q q6600
Or higher. I Have a c2q Q8300 2,5 ghz, everything works well… Only a few games for exception as i noticed before.
January 26th, 2010 at 4:13 am
I have a 2.6 p4? what, that’s not fast enough?

George: It’s a 6 years old CPU, did you expect it to be top of the line? If you’ve an old PC, don’t expect it to run every single piece of software (not to mean those that are, by definition, CPU intensive due to the task they must do) perfectly. Also, moderate your language, already deleted one of your comments due to your lack of education.

Great work. I’ve been looking for a replacement for no$cash. It runs great, but no$cash limits the screen size. Looking forward to 0.9.6. Let us know if any of us can be of help!
January 29th, 2010 at 8:04 am
My keyboard is working fine. I play New Super Mario Bros. DS on DeSmuME emulator and found S and X are very weird when play game don’t move well. Use A and Z button instead of S and X and work fine. For jumping, running, throw fireball at enemies, swimming in water and more. Arrow buttons working fine. Now I learn new way. Very different buttons and never experience on keyboard for game before and sometimes hard for me to use on keyboard, but not all.
I feel Desmume 0.9.6 is come soon. Can’t wait to get next version to fix bugger, etc. I hope they fix mic for Desmume 0.9.6 without have mic add on on your computer. Like Zelda, Yoshi Touch DS, etc for example. Add mic to keyboard (custom key OR on right button of mouse button OR custom key on any gamepad controller’s button – Logitech, PS3, etc too).
I keep look forward to Desmume homepage when new version come out. Cheers.

I have a mac G4 and when i try to open this it says “You cannot open the application ‘desume’ because it is not supported on this system”
February 1st, 2010 at 9:08 am
If you are MAC users,
You must download VmWare Fusion 3.0 to install Windows XP, Vista, or 7 on your MAC to allow running Windows application and games on it. You can find on Google and help you.
You need check your processor speed, video card, and memory ram need to run Desmume emulator. You need Dual Core 3.0+ GHz, 3+ GB of RAM, Nvidia 6 Series and above.
You want to know why? VMware are hungry need more CPU speed and memory RAM! Your computer need more power!
I already test Windows XP in VMware under my real Windows XP and working!!! I saw 30 day activation from Windows XP, oh NOOOOO! Destroy WGA now and use Windows forever! Activation is gone! Be warning beware of activation is evil made by Microsoft! YAY!!! That what I use VMware Workstation 7.0.0 Build 203739 (x86/x64) for Windows. Powerful program for multiple operating system like Windows, Linux, Mac, etc to running on Windows without have format hard drive to save our headaches!
For Linux users, You must use Wine program to running Windows applications and games!
If not working. You will have to buy PC with Windows XP or 7 to solve your problems. World’s popular is Windows than Mac and Linux!!!
I’m proud of my Nvidia 9800 GX2! Powerful enough running through VMware program!
I really proud of Windows: Design for Windows XP
Cheers!

February 1st, 2010 at 2:51 pm
I agree, Microsoft are being ediat of making that fucking activation lol!
But anyway, using a vm won’t help, it will even make DeSMume runs slower atleast youl use frameskip. I tried it and it runs slow until I use frameskip 5 on my Win7 vm.
February 1st, 2010 at 11:02 pm
i dont think it supports tiger
February 4th, 2010 at 12:04 pm
Good Emu!!
February 4th, 2010 at 9:19 pm
Great job, guys. Phenom 2 X4 940 @ 3.2, 4 GB DDR2-800 and GTX 260 896 MB here. Used to have problems with some games in 0.9.4 (AW: Days of Ruin texture allocation bug, MMZX: Advent missing graphics, the synchronization issues in all video cutscenes…), but 0.9.5 has fixed all of them. Even the few games I used to have framerate issues run at a silky-smooth 60fps now. 0.9.4 was already good, 0.9.5 is damn near perfect… I mean you’ve even got filters now for fuck’s sake.
DeSmuME team, you guys really deserve a medal! I mean, christ, I don’t have ANY issues?! Now WTF am I going to bitch about??
February 5th, 2010 at 8:06 pm
May I suggest you bitch about savestates from 0.9.4 not loading, or it not running fast enough on your netbook? Those are popular topics.
February 7th, 2010 at 12:38 am
Thanks to the DeSmuME team for bringing us this wonderful release. It was funny to see the GTK version running on my Mac, seeing it has all the GTK icons I see every day on my Linux machine. Almost thought I powered up the wrong system
Anyway, I do wonder why a NDS emu needs such an amount of extra CPU power as compared to an N64 emu. I do remember that years ago an N64 actually run perfectly well on a 2.6Ghz P4. Now a NDS isn’t that more powerful than a N64 right? (I don’t *really* care, since my Mac is a 2.0Ghz core duo and my Linux machine even a 2.9Ghz quad core Nehalem, but I’m just curious about this)
February 8th, 2010 at 8:43 pm
Because we don’t do dynamic recompilation, and we don’t do any high level emulation. also, 2d graphics hardware is bizarre and in many cases harder to emulate than 3d. you will notice that desmume has few emulation options, because it has few performance hacks. that’s just the way it is for now.
February 11th, 2010 at 1:41 pm
When I run Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers Of Sky on desmume 0.9.5, it works fine, but I can’t do nothing else. I hope it will be fixed in version 0.9.6, but maybe it’s because my computer has very weak Athlon 2200+.
February 13th, 2010 at 9:31 pm
Well done, for releasing this, and for flying the last remaining flag for DS emulation. I await 0.9.6 with great anticipation. Pats on the back all round.
February 16th, 2010 at 5:50 am
Great job! This really supersedes no$gba. Find out this support more games than no$gba (readable text on Harvest Moon series, no game crashes so far), but the screen blinks for Heroes of Mana (it’s still playable though, but hurts my eyes).
Also, for the controller configuration, I’m using PS2 pad, it recognizes the analog stick for directions (up, down, left, right), but it just can’t be used in game, not until I change the configuration to the digital pad of directions. Well, at least the controller is usable
For the speed… mmm.. have to say it’s a bit slower than no$gba. I don’t have to skip frames on no$gba, and it runs smoothly, but for desmume, i need to skip frames to catch on the actual speed (tested on both dual cores and core 2 duo, the performance on core 2 duo is definitely better)
Better sounds, though
Altogether… Loves it !! Thanks guys !!
February 16th, 2010 at 7:30 pm
Wow, this is great, and it works really well on my Mac. Occasionally, it gets stuck if I try and open the menu, but only after just opening it. It’s very nice however! =]
February 17th, 2010 at 6:08 pm

ghtyug i do not know if this is me or you but whewn i enter action replay codes and i turn them on i click save and a pop-up comes up saying can’t save to file. could you help me with this please?
February 18th, 2010 at 9:29 pm
This is the best NDS emulator ever! The only problem is that every single rom I play is slow. The only cool thing about this emulator is that it has more colorful graphics than NO$GBA. Also, NO$GBA can’t save after a while. For example, I try to play Sonic Rush. Automatically, my data got deleted after a while. Good thing DeSmuME has a save state and load state as… feature, so that the data won’t get deleted.
February 21st, 2010 at 5:47 pm
My game keeps frezzing once I enter a battle or encounter wild pokemon in the grass. Also, there a re “black areas” that I cannot go past. Can someone please help me get this problem fixed.
Link to “black area” screenshot: http://tinypic.com/view.php?pic=21bptz4&s=6
February 21st, 2010 at 5:52 pm
Oh yeah, I forgot to mention it was in pokemon Heartgold.
February 28th, 2010 at 3:34 am
Help!
It loads to 99%, then it freezes. I am not kidding! I don’t know what to do!
February 28th, 2010 at 8:42 pm
God dam the sound are better then NO$GBA. The only problem is speed. I can only run 20fps-50 fps on my mac. Thanks and I love DeSmuME XD.
March 5th, 2010 at 4:51 pm
hey do you guys know how can i trade my pokemon i played on visual boy advance to desmume which i play platinum on ?
March 6th, 2010 at 7:45 am
I saw you mumbling stupid stuff on ngemu. Talk to use when youve beat the elite four and opened up the pal park.
March 6th, 2010 at 7:55 am
I might sound a bit noobish, but i haven’t used Desmume for quite a while so i just wanted to ask what “DeSmuME_dev.exe” and “DeSmuME_nosse2.exe” are for in the new 0.9.5 release.
Do they work similar to how “DeSmuME.exe” work or are they different & work differently from “DeSmuME.exe”.
Also does the “GBA Slot” function really work (like for the Pokemon games).
March 6th, 2010 at 9:54 am
yeah i’ve done that stuff. so can you help me now ?
March 6th, 2010 at 4:27 pm
i’m playing my pokemon game in this, but it walks, run, even riding bicycle is still waaaaaayyyyy too slow……….
it only goes up to 36fps
how can get more speed than that??
March 7th, 2010 at 7:46 pm
you already got all the help you need on ngemu. put the .gba and the .sav in the same directory with the same name, configure it via the addons configurator, and give it a shot.
March 9th, 2010 at 1:38 am
play this emu when a window-game exist(a fullscreen game change to a windowed game),the emu screen is yellow….
March 11th, 2010 at 11:03 am
Nicholas; if you want speed, read the FAQ. It tells you how to make the emu runs faster.
March 11th, 2010 at 11:34 pm
Thank you!
March 14th, 2010 at 1:50 am
GREAT, I found a old link pointing to a slightly older version of this, and managed to find this version on the homepage, Im definatly interested in trying this out, Just need to read the FAQ as I dont know if its compatable with DSI
March 16th, 2010 at 2:01 am
“Hi, I’m the DeSmuME blog admins and I can’t take criticism.”
Seriously guys, when I said the new Mac version sucks, I mean it:
-No “open recent”
-No speed settings (M&L2 battles are way too fast for one thing)
-No volume control
-Unresponsive to clicks and eventually doesn’t respond at all
And worst of all, no customizing of directories. It doesn’t even remember where the last file you opened was. I’m not going to click over and over just to get to the file I want to open.
I see no reason to delete my comments just because you won’t listen.
March 16th, 2010 at 8:01 pm
tymine: Didn’t see a single comment from you before, and I’m usually the one administrating the blog. I usually only delete those comments that are so retarded, my eyes bleed when reading. That makes about the 70% of the comments posted.
About the Mac issue, not a single developer owns one of those crappy machines, and thus the Mac port is hacked together as best as possible. Either learn to code and fix it, send a Mac computer to one of the developers or STFU and be grateful for what you got for free. And yes, those are the only 3 options that you can choose from, so don’t try to be smart.
March 16th, 2010 at 9:26 pm
Maybe I deleted it. I would like to take credit for it but I just can’t remember.
“Hi I’m a Mac User, and I think I think I am entitled to bring my toys to the office and play with the grownups but my toy just blinks and makes moo sounds
“
March 19th, 2010 at 6:25 am
Or option #4: fix what’s wrong with it and stop alienating potential supporters by insulting them, and giving them inane suggestions like “give a bunch of strangers a free computer”, or else they might just switch to iDeaS.
March 19th, 2010 at 9:33 am
feel free to switch to ideas just to get even with us.
March 19th, 2010 at 1:51 pm
tymime: Switch to iDeaS, please!
March 19th, 2010 at 6:18 pm
By reading the last few posts here I just had to reply.
I’m shocked to see how many childish persons there are here.
Don’t you know these guys are doing the best they can?
Not one emulator in the entire world is 100% perfect.
Just look at what’s good in an emulator instead of critisising every little bad thing you see.
March 19th, 2010 at 11:06 pm
Bug Found:
App Crashes On Some Intel Mac’s.
March 20th, 2010 at 10:26 am
THANK YOU FOR THE GREAT EMULATOR
But…… it still isn’t perfect, it beats all the emulators as far as
options, gizmos (savestate, zoom, speed up) go,
but still No$GBA beats it in speed…… by a BIG margin.
All that is left is for DesMuMe to somehow be made faster or
at least at same level in speed as No$GBA and it will without doubt be
on the top top.
March 21st, 2010 at 2:17 am
Great emu so far!
Pokemon Heart Gold U just runs perfectly without freeze!
For me, speed isn’t too much problem since I use frameskip. My highest framerate I have on record was around 70 to 75.
March 22nd, 2010 at 4:46 am
I have a question: Every time I open DeSmuME (ANY version) It crashes inmediately after it opens. I have Windows XP SP3. Is there any patch to solve this?
March 22nd, 2010 at 8:17 am
bg, No$GBA might run a little faster with certain games, but it doesn’t run nearly the selection of games perfectly DeSmuME does. Of the two emulators, the former has been outdated for years now.
March 23rd, 2010 at 9:29 pm
Im using the SVN releases and DESMUME is close to perfection now. Gratz!
March 24th, 2010 at 8:44 am
When play Infiite Space on Desmume 0.9.5 emulator.
I found one problem, when I arrive at planet – Tapsai and go to ground and freeze, don’t move to place.
March 24th, 2010 at 10:43 pm
after 9.1 desume dosent work on my pc
March 25th, 2010 at 12:02 pm
Lol, this release has gotten the most comments!
Comments on release 0.7.3 is now the second place!
March 25th, 2010 at 6:09 pm
nut, 90% of them are yours
March 26th, 2010 at 10:57 am
Oh yeah.
Since 0.9.6 isn’t out yet, do you think the comments on 0.9.5 can reach 300?
April 3rd, 2010 at 8:40 pm
Cool emulator! LOVE it! But…
There’s bug in Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney. In 5th case you’re supposed to examine a wallet near the beginning as a tutorial, but when I get to try it, Ema shuts up and don’t say a thing when she’s supposed to guide me and tell to examine the button and open it… Nothing works. How to fix it? Thanks.
P.S. Sorry if it was asked already. I’m too lazy to skim through 300+ comments.
April 4th, 2010 at 5:09 am
dude this was the best working emu ive found so far many thanks =)
April 4th, 2010 at 2:49 pm
Cool, DeSmuME has come a long way it seems. I remember it wasn’t that long ago when No$GBA was like almost the only viable choice. These days DeSmuME surpasses it in all categories except speed. If the emulator was using dynamic recompilers and maybe dual core CPUs it would probably run fullspeed even on laptops/netbooks. I wanted to play a Pokemon Platinum hack and I prefer playing on emulators due to being able to increase the speed over the standard (I usually play pokemon games at 200~250% the normal speed as it saves so much time) but my parents comp with an Opteron 165 I’ve overclocked a bit doesn’t quite cut it but No$GBA is able to run it above full speed though. Oh well should be no speed probs when I test it again tomorrow on my own comp with i7-860 overclocked to 4.1GHz.
April 4th, 2010 at 7:00 pm
KnA, heard of the search function in your browser? If youre too lazy to search, then everyone else is too lazy to read your lazy mumbling and too lazy to answer.
April 6th, 2010 at 7:51 pm
rpgwizard how do you know it doesnt use dual core cpus
April 7th, 2010 at 7:24 am
I was just assuming when it doesn’t use dynamic recompilers, usually that’s the thing emulator authors implement before implementing dual/multi core CPU support when wanting to improve performance aspects. But looks like I could be wrong that it actually supports dual core or Everest or Task manager is lying to me, Everest shows Core 1 & 2 is at around 50 ~ 70% used.
Oh and Pokemon Platinum runs nicely at around 115 FPS minimum (no frame skip and software renderer) on this i7-860 @ 4.1GHz.
Working savestates and a lot better sounds and colors than a certain other emulator makes it a lot nicer to play.
April 7th, 2010 at 2:21 pm
FYI, for this emulator, you can’t get past a certain point in case 5 on Phoenix Wright: Ace Attourney
April 8th, 2010 at 1:56 am
my DeSmuMe was working fine, then all of a sudden I go to open it and it wont open? What’s wrong? What happened?
April 8th, 2010 at 11:07 am
@ wolf
does it give you an error message or does it just close?
April 11th, 2010 at 2:29 am
I think there are some serious glitches/bugs still…….I can’t seem to play games like Megaman Starforce 3 :Black Ace because I cannot input the keys.( I can play other games) Still, AWESOME release!
April 11th, 2010 at 8:34 am
I like to thanks for these freeware. It work quite well, the only flaw I can see is the speed.
April 11th, 2010 at 5:58 pm
(waiting for 0.9.6!)
April 11th, 2010 at 8:30 pm
cool ilove you
April 12th, 2010 at 4:29 am
Lol it has been for ages and still no release?
I hope it release soon.
I will continue to wait.
April 12th, 2010 at 11:57 am
I don’t care how long they take to complete the new version because the longer they work on it means less bugs in the new version.
April 12th, 2010 at 1:13 pm
When you will work on wi-fi? i have checked all svn code commits from 0.9.6 and i have seen only 2 changes for now…
April 12th, 2010 at 1:15 pm
i mean for wi-fi BTW we need 7 other comments to reack 300 comments!
April 12th, 2010 at 2:42 pm
@ dean
Wi-fi should be the last part they should work on because if they already included wi-fi in this version it would still be to buggy to send even the weakest of signals.
April 12th, 2010 at 5:51 pm
I have Downloaded this version yesterday. All works well, prof. Layton power, pleasure etc… BUT today, I want to play again and … “OH surprise” (in french in the text) an error has come : 0xc000007b. WTF ! I have the 0.9.4 x86 and it works well. I dont’t know if it’s an error due to my system or if DeSmuMe creates an error… My memory is good after Memtest etc… So I don’t know what to do. I can play with the older version so well, but I would to report this bug anywhere. Thx the team for all your work, it’s fantastic to have guy (maybe girl) like you ^^
Config :
Win 7 Ultimate (cracked)

April 12th, 2010 at 9:29 pm
Quick question. Can I use my save states from the previous version? I’ve been trying to get it and they’re not working.
April 12th, 2010 at 11:18 pm
Please fix sound input problem for Phantom Hourglass (to blow out torches!!)
April 13th, 2010 at 12:43 am
i can’t wait for the full 0.9.6 version… enough with SVNs!
April 13th, 2010 at 3:04 am
@ dean:
I’m fear that wifi won’t be usable in the near future, if you check the forum, there are some discussions about wifi.
Just wait until it’s done, wifi in DS emulators are very hard to code, it can take several years until DS emulators can use wifi.
April 13th, 2010 at 5:23 pm
yes Nut i know there is no nds emulator with working wi-fi and i think that we will never see wi-fi on a emulator. BTW can i compile desmume using visual studio 2010? oh and in desmume in the controls tab can you remove that text that is saying that some controls are unsupported right now and marked with gray sorry!- because there is no unsupported control left……… lol my cat scrathed me right now lol……..
April 13th, 2010 at 5:37 pm
HAHA and i feel DeSmuME 0.9.6 is coming this week! 1. check SVN and you will feel that too! 2. my cat scratched me again
– Lol and finally i will play pokemon soul silver, i was just waiting 0.9.6 to play tha game
April 13th, 2010 at 8:41 pm
no it won’t be released this week… :/
April 13th, 2010 at 10:11 pm
Let them take their time. Like I said: the longer they take the better it will be.
April 14th, 2010 at 3:13 am
Great!
At least there is progress, I’m happy!
April 14th, 2010 at 12:56 pm
Well you can always play around with the latest SVN if you can’t wait for a 0.9.6 to be released. I’ve been playing Pokemon Platinum with r3483 and it has worked perfectly.
April 14th, 2010 at 8:43 pm
this emulator should have an ANTI POKEMON hack
so no pokemon games work
shit kids who play shit games
April 15th, 2010 at 11:57 am
@ anonymus
Why do you care that others play games that you don’t like?
Just let them to do their stuff and they will let you do your stuff.
April 15th, 2010 at 12:15 pm
Sorry for double posting
@ anonymus
I’m 18 and I still play pokemon heck I even still watch the episodes.
Even my uncle who is 32 years old still loves pokemon.
You have no right to belittle people who like pokemon.
April 15th, 2010 at 1:54 pm
I’m soon to be 23 years and I still play the pokemon games. That the games contain fantasy monsters that may be targeted mainly at age say 7 – 15 or so is irrelevant to me as I enjoy the RPG concept, battles, learn new moves and evolve into new forms, use items and set up different kinds of strategies etc.
April 15th, 2010 at 2:46 pm
i wonder why all the pokemon fanboys come out right after being insulted.
April 15th, 2010 at 4:31 pm
@ Tyreal87
Because we have the right to speak for ourselves. I never insulted someone because they listen to techno (which i hate) and can’t stand it when someone else does.
April 16th, 2010 at 12:10 pm
”we can do whatewer we want and no one will tell us what to do”
April 16th, 2010 at 12:39 pm
There are several bugs with this version….I’d say one of the major ones is, it freezes when you bring down one of its dropdown menus…two, the cheatlist doesn’t work at all That needs to be fixed badly….(As well as the format for the cheatlist needs to be fixed)
April 16th, 2010 at 11:17 pm
The 1.5 version of this emulator is slower than the previous
I hope the next version is faster.
I use an intel quad core to emulate this and still slow
April 17th, 2010 at 8:20 am
HAHAHAHAHAHAHHHA
i normaly dont put ppl in one case too
but POKEMON players are just all fucking nerds, if ur uncle plays pokemon with 32 years HAHAHAHHAHA tell him to hang himself
fucking pokemon motherfuckers, every 3rd post on emulator pages is about pokemon
fuck u and ur pokemon
April 17th, 2010 at 9:56 am
lol dont reply to anonymus he is just another troll with no life or he is an abused child – sorry for my english anonymus
BTW: GO F*** YOURSELF!!!
April 17th, 2010 at 12:45 pm
@ anonymus
So you call me a nerd? I’d like to see you in real life you punk.
Guys like you think they are so tough because they think you can say whatever you want online. In my eyes you’re a little kid who either is just mentally disturbed or suffered heavy brain damage from excessive c*ck penetration.

I just had to let this out because I can’t stand people like him. You may delete my post if you want.

thanx for fixing that text that is saying that some controls are unsupported right now and marked with gray sorry!
April 17th, 2010 at 6:22 pm
and what is that firmware tool in the tools folder on the svn repository? are you going to release it with desmume 0.9.6? with it you can view your firmware (but you cant change anything for now)
April 17th, 2010 at 6:47 pm
Well, marked ANONYMOUS as spammer, won’t see any of that retard posts around here any more.
April 17th, 2010 at 8:03 pm
@ shash
Thanks for getting rid of him. Now we can go back to talking about the überness that is desmume. :p
April 18th, 2010 at 1:40 am
I don’t know either about the furmware tool thing, but I know the cheatconverter is use to convert 0.9.5 cheats to a new format to use with the latest SVN.
I think this will be included with 0.9.6.
April 18th, 2010 at 4:34 am
Hello there.
First of all. Thanks for this great emulator. If this emulator where a little bit faster, NO$GBA will be out. But I got a pettition: It’s possible to integrate a 1.5x zoom, with filters, for people like me, that plays in 1024 x 786 resolution in the desktop? Or a 2x Zoom fullscreen option?
Greeting from Chile.
April 18th, 2010 at 8:24 pm
I hope that they add 2x/4x Anti-aliasing to 0.9.6 version
April 18th, 2010 at 8:46 pm
they won’t.
April 19th, 2010 at 9:27 am

Maroon1: It produces glitches, and is a hack. Hacking it onto the openGL driver is a matter of minutes, but is a potential trouble maker, thus rendering it a bad option, based on how stupid the DeSmuME average user is.

Hey im Dean and i decided to post every week a report in the DesmuME Project (if you dont mind) so here is the report of this week:
Wifi: some potential improvements are made to wifi and there is really a hard work going on wifi! (maybe we will see a working wifi in o.9.7 or even in 0.9.6 who knows!)
desmume: some bug fixes and visual studio 2010 support! (thanx for the last one)
The 0.9.6 release will be hot for sure!!!
April 21st, 2010 at 5:34 am
Thank you so much! I’ve been waiting for this to happen!
NO$GBA is bad because you cant save games
But with DeSmuME i can save all i like WITHOUT errors!
Well done! This is a perfect present!
April 22nd, 2010 at 12:21 pm
actually you can save on no$gba too but who cares when you have DeSmuME to do the job!!!
April 24th, 2010 at 4:44 am
It doesn’t work on my PPC g5 2.3 ghz its not a Intel processor but why should I need one I had a imac and the graphics card blew out on it so I went no I’m not getting another Intel mac it pissed me off so bad that I had to give it away
April 24th, 2010 at 7:09 am
panda, enjoy having a 5 year old computer, and enjoy never upgrading again since apple doesnt make PPC macs afaik and certainly not for the masses.
April 25th, 2010 at 1:17 am
Hey, I really like what im seeing here. I like to mess around editing pokemon games and thats how I got into emulation. Keep up the good work, I appreciate what your doing. Can’t wait for the next version! =D

Hey,
Zeromus or someone else involved in producing Desmume,
Is there a compatibility list of games for desmume 0.9.5?
And are there any bug or lags known in the following games:
Yoshi’s island ds
Mario and Luigi : Partners in time.
Hope someone knows it.
Can’t wait for 0,9,6 to come out!
April 26th, 2010 at 8:18 pm
there is no compatibility list.
April 27th, 2010 at 6:21 am
i’m playing pokemon soul silver but it does not load my save what should i do ?
April 27th, 2010 at 12:30 pm
Okay good to know that, does anyone knows if there are lags or problems with the games i just noticed above?
April 27th, 2010 at 6:21 pm
I love this emulator! I read some of the comments and I agree with most of them but one thing I would LOVE to see in the next release is the seperate screen sizing like no$zoomer has. That would put this emulator over the top and crown it king of DS emulators in my eyes!
April 27th, 2010 at 6:22 pm
Oh and one more thing I forgot too add which is NOT by any means necessary but would be nice, is to make the sound a little bit smoother and less cricky. Thanks! =D
April 27th, 2010 at 7:08 pm
As to the lags why cant you just try it yourself and see?
April 28th, 2010 at 9:47 am
Well, in partners in time i found 1 lag sofar, when you go a level up, the amount of points is not cleary shown. Other than that nothing to mention.
I also have bowsers inside story, only that one will run at 40 fps or something, while all other games run at 60 fps, also zelda isn’t working that fine, but i gues it’s due to the 3d options missing in version 0.9.5 correct me if i’m wring. Other than that i’m just pleased with the work you guys did on it.
April 28th, 2010 at 5:32 pm
LM what render do you use, OpenGL or Soft Rasterizer?
)
Go to the graphic options and if you have opengl then switch to soft rasterizer because opengl breaks graphics some times.
BTW WHERE IS O.9.6 (GGGRRR
April 28th, 2010 at 9:02 pm
Yes i already tried that, but i’m 99% sure, that there have to be some improvements in the future, just hoping for it in 0.9.6 well maybe if those good people who’re involved in this project will make some time for this. After all they’re on a good way to a perfect emulator and they are doing it for free. so we better bless them.
April 29th, 2010 at 12:04 am
LM: Focus is not on that, buy a faster computer.
April 29th, 2010 at 12:59 pm
or buy a REAL Nintendo DS
April 29th, 2010 at 3:49 pm
I’ve got an intel Quad core Q8300 4 x 2,5 ghz that should be more than enough ain’t it?
April 29th, 2010 at 4:34 pm
Sure, i have quad core q6600 2,86 Ghz (overclocked) and the emulator runs at 60 fps
April 30th, 2010 at 10:40 am
for some reason it still runs a bit slow for me… like almost 20 fps
April 30th, 2010 at 11:29 am
@ ice cold killer, bowsers inside story can you run that one also at 60 fps and does zelda the spirit track runs at 60 fps. My dad has the same processor as you mine is a bit newer i also overclocked that one. And bowsers inside story doesn’t run 60 fps
April 30th, 2010 at 12:14 pm
I think the performance is dependent on the video card and the amount of RAM too, and not just the CPU.
April 30th, 2010 at 1:44 pm
hi: Really? Probably because they’re important parts of your computer. TO add important information in that line of thought, input depends on your keyboard/pad having all keys/buttons.
April 30th, 2010 at 4:16 pm
hi: lol….
LM: I never played those games on my computer and i cant play them because i dont have the real ones to dump from but games like pokemon, yugioh and some others run always at 60 fps.
maybe it is because i have done some other tweaks to my pc who knows…….
May 1st, 2010 at 2:08 pm
Yes I understand, well I think in that case desmume isn’t compatible with all games yet. Maybe it will be in the future, i don’t play pokemon games so i don’t know how they’ll work on my pc, but super princess peach for axample works 100% correct i finished the whole game not a single bug or lag noticed. at one of the two pc’s mentioned above. so that ones works 100% fine with desmume,
@ Hi Desmume is a cpu eater, the amount of ram is’n;t that important if you have 2 gigs it’s more than enough
May 1st, 2010 at 3:13 pm
yes desmume cant run all the avalable games 100% (like a real ds can)
BTW i buyed a xbox 360 controller and installed xpadder and now i can play all my pc games with it! and desmume too! lol….
May 2nd, 2010 at 8:26 am
Haha i have one to i use it for desmume visualboy and pj64, mine isn’t wireless
May 2nd, 2010 at 10:07 am
mine too!
May 2nd, 2010 at 12:14 pm
only studid thing i have, is with visualboy if i pull the usb cable out of my comp i have to set the controls agein, with desmume this isn’t the case it still remembers the settings. Well seems we have around the same systems, wich games did you run with desmume and wich of them did work around 100% fine?
May 2nd, 2010 at 12:33 pm
LM: Test those you own, which is the only ones you should be using.
May 2nd, 2010 at 7:11 pm
great emulator! but it keeps saying”can’t save cheat to file” when i insert an action replay code in pokemon soul silver…is there anyway of solving this problem?
May 4th, 2010 at 10:03 pm
I am Mac user (10.6 osx) and I have probelm with Children of Mana. When I enter the world map i cant move or do anything…
May 5th, 2010 at 5:58 am
nice,
1.but I have a problem with Pokemon Trozei
It is so slow or it stucked… after a few minutes, back to normal..
Is there anyway of solving this problem?
2.The codebreaker is greyed out. Why?
3.i am stucked with the game in Zelda, spirit tracks…
because of the microphone, it is harder when it is skipping notes…
4.sometimes when i play Pokemon Soulsilver (U)
some paths are blacked out and i can’t go to that place
but i managed it by saving the game and reset it and all changes to normal some battles stucked too..
But overall, it is great. Few words…
May 5th, 2010 at 11:31 pm
thanks for the emulator, however i’m sure this is been mentioned but i thought to make sure, Sonic Rush still can’t save for some reason…
May 8th, 2010 at 8:31 pm
hmm i smell a big slowdown here…..
May 8th, 2010 at 10:42 pm
Ok.. so the cheats doesnt work.
May 9th, 2010 at 4:12 pm
amandahope1: They do work.
May 10th, 2010 at 6:40 am
Right clicking anywhere in the mac version hangs it. serious problem for me, i use a kensington doublebutton mouse, and several mac mice (with secondary click enabled)
May 11th, 2010 at 9:17 pm
Trying really hard to use this version, despite its big flaws, since the emulation is so much better.
…But Heart Gold seems to freeze every time Lyra shows you how to catch Pokémon, no matter what I do. I’ve tried the patch that’s supposed to “fix” this, but no such luck.
Not to mention the emulator itself freezes constantly.
I just wanna play some games, darn it!
May 11th, 2010 at 9:25 pm
It’s… working now. Somehow. õ_ô
May 12th, 2010 at 12:42 pm
hey thanx guys!!!
….btw hope u guys are fixing the speed problem when playing certain games like pokemon heartgold…and hope that you guys will fix the problem with the wifi connection and trading capabilities…please try make all that work
…thanx again! keep me posted with the next release of Desmume!
May 14th, 2010 at 3:59 am
Experimental wifi is in the latest SVN build. Compile it yourself.
Also, a complete usable wifi won’t be in the near future for sure, as no emulator exist yet that can emulate wifi.
May 14th, 2010 at 12:44 pm
no, no, no, nintendo banned desmume because it caused some failures to theyr servers so wi-fi doesnt work right now because of some idiots trying to use an experimental wi-fi, so now just sit down and wait for a “perfect wi-fi” on desmume or go and buy a real ds!!!
STOP OR YOU NEVER GONNA SEE WI-FI BECAUSE OF YOUR STUPID ACTIONS!!!
May 15th, 2010 at 1:09 am
Overall the best NDS emulator available today
May 17th, 2010 at 5:59 am
Ice Cold Killer: Really? I’ve never heard of that story. But anyway, Even it is not true, it doesn’t work for me.
So, we can do nothing now except wait, and I’m willing to wait, since my attempt failed to compile a working build with experimental wifi.
Also, when does the new version comes out? It is very long, I’m relying on the SVN builds. Hope you all good luck!
May 17th, 2010 at 3:49 pm
Nut: It’s true. Also, the new version will be released whenever it’s done, and that’s the best schedule you’ll probably get.
May 17th, 2010 at 11:20 pm
I’d rather it done right than done quick anyway. I just hope the official 9.6 release will be better than those SVN builds, I don’t particularly care for them..
May 18th, 2010 at 5:11 pm
joshua, I have read your mind and addressed all your concerns about svn builds. Happy now?
May 19th, 2010 at 2:57 am
Shash: thanks for reply.
Let’s hope the 0.9.6 will be better than the SVN builds!
May 24th, 2010 at 1:04 pm
Sorry if I sound noob, but I’m moving from 0.9.4 to 0.9.6, and I’m just wondering where my save files are so I can back them up! I’m using Windows 7 Ultimate 32 bit if it helps.
June 11th, 2010 at 11:13 pm
hey I’m using desmume 0.9.5 and my save file always gone
