DeSmuME 0.9.4 released! Also OSX Universal.
This new release introduces lots of bug corrections, improvements and new features: among them are new save autodetection, new save file format and full rerecording support.
For those wondering about the missing 0.9.3 version, we somehow lost it ; it got captured by hunters that thought it was a new p*kem*n.
And also, the download page now links to an 0.9.4 OSX Universal binary.
July 8th, 2009 at 9:17 pm
Did you put the new file on SourceForge yet?
July 8th, 2009 at 9:30 pm
^^….
July 8th, 2009 at 9:40 pm
There are no 0.9.4 version on Sourceforge. Please, upload it.
July 8th, 2009 at 9:49 pm
Yeah, there’s some problem with SourceForge, I’m working on it.
July 8th, 2009 at 9:49 pm
Can’t find binary for the official 0.9.4
July 8th, 2009 at 10:34 pm
Problem with sourceforge is now fixed, download links are working.
July 8th, 2009 at 11:02 pm
Hm, it compiles with GCC 4.3.3 but fails with 4.4.0. Aliasing problem?

July 9th, 2009 at 9:56 pm
I had a feeling this whole week that the new version was about to come out! I was gonna say something but I didn’t wanna be totally off haha.
Great job guys! Keep up the awesome work.
July 9th, 2009 at 10:07 pm
I tried out the new version and it seems great, but are the savestates really supposed be that big bulky white text on the emulator that literally gets in the way of the game?
I think the red font in the upper left corner was much better. It was small and out of the way.
Again, you guys did a great job. But I think I’m gonna stick to 0.9.2 because my games are running fine on that anyway, and the savestate appearance is more convenient.
July 10th, 2009 at 12:08 am
Hey, I found another way to make the game runs faster on DeSmuMe. Actually, I found this long ago, sorry for not writing it. To make the game run faster, set the framerate to unlimited in the confic menu and set the frame skip to 9, and that’s it, now your game will run faster. If you think it’s too fast, then set the frame skip to 0. Note this works for me.
July 10th, 2009 at 12:10 am
Nut, this isn’t the place for that (for the last time…).
We all already know how to make the game run faster.
You should try the forums! I don’t know why, but I just know you’ll enjoy it!
July 10th, 2009 at 12:13 am
Mac version plz?????
July 10th, 2009 at 1:11 am
ok ok… if you “lost version 0.9.3″ then this one should be version 0.9.3, not 0.9.4
July 10th, 2009 at 3:12 am
what you say makes no sense. if this was 0.9.3 then we would not have lost 0.9.3. you would be looking at it.

I think this version is very awesome. I can play Pokemon Diamond more enjoyable with less worrying about save state because in-game saving is now working well without changing save type like in the previous version. Thanks for the awesome work and keep it up!

WHERE IS THE MAC BINARY? If your releasing an emu for windows and MAC why are you only posting the windows binary?
July 10th, 2009 at 10:07 pm
tenshin, i thought about making it today by borrowing someone’s mac (because all the mac programmers in the universe are busy making iphone games) but the opportunity to tell you that your capital comments were responsible for it getting delayed to another day was too much to resist.
July 11th, 2009 at 12:16 am
@zeromus: please don’t give up, there are many mac users out there who would be glad to get a mac binary without resolving to use caps in order to get their point across.
July 11th, 2009 at 12:41 am
Alright, there you go.
July 11th, 2009 at 3:53 am
@zeromus: thank you sir
! silghtly confused tho.. ‘about’ window & the get info both state version 0.9.3.. is this the elusive version that got skipped over or just a small oversight?
July 11th, 2009 at 4:20 am
this release it doesn´t work with the .sav archive only works with the .dsv archive. The 0.9.4 doesn´t load my saved game of pokemon platinum and final fantasy 4 you must don´t forget the sav’s function.
what is the requeriments of winpcap for the emulator?
July 11th, 2009 at 8:17 am
Gracias!!
July 11th, 2009 at 11:29 am
I’ll make it simple –> You rock guys !
July 11th, 2009 at 1:46 pm
Gracias, the best DS emulator!….
July 11th, 2009 at 1:59 pm
Awesome. Thanks so much for the mac version
July 11th, 2009 at 2:00 pm
william: There’s no requirement of winpcap neither any way to use it on desmume, so I don’t really know what you’re talking about.
July 11th, 2009 at 2:36 pm
I downloaded the DMG file, which is labeled 0.9.4, but inside is version 0.9.3. just letting you all know.
July 11th, 2009 at 2:54 pm
Hey, I just downloaded 0.94 for Windows 7, right? Well, for a couple of days it would fine, right? Well, today (7/11/09) it will NOT show the menu, neither will it show the emulator screens itself! Heck, I can’t even see the games it loads, but I do hear the music from them! It’s like it’s invisible, even though I have the 186.18 nVidia drivers for my GTS 250. WTH is going on here?
July 11th, 2009 at 2:55 pm
Chris: It’s 0.9.4, just probably someone forgot to update the number, the features are 0.9.4 level
July 11th, 2009 at 8:56 pm
nintendo1889 whats going on is youre using a beta OS. good luck with that. reformat and try again.
July 11th, 2009 at 9:11 pm
where is the download at?
July 11th, 2009 at 10:48 pm
@Some dude
http://desmume.org/download/
July 11th, 2009 at 10:49 pm
@nintendo1889
It’s probably a driver bug for Win7, and desmume isn’t really extensively tested on Win7 either. Plus you’re probably using the Release Candidate/Beta builds which may still have bugs.
July 12th, 2009 at 12:30 am
Yeah, probably. I’m using Windows XP Pro SP3 and I played with desmume 0.9.4 up to now, I had never encounter problem like that. So yeah probably it’s the bug with the windows.
July 12th, 2009 at 5:52 am
I think the best way to solve that problem is re-format your computer and install Windows XP instead or re-download 0.9.4 again and put it in a different folders.
July 12th, 2009 at 10:33 pm
To: nintendo1889
Oh really? I suggest Windows XP. I done collect all version of Nvidia Driver to keep for backup files. If not working, I can downgrade or upgrade anytime what affect to emulator or PC games. I keep eye on Nvidia every one month for new version and download file then keep it.
I heard someone say Windows XP SP3 have some bugger inside. Oh I see. Format Xp on hard drive again, again is not good. Just keep update for SP2 and don’t upgrade to SP3 until you feel to ready or not.
July 13th, 2009 at 12:23 am
Thanks for the awesome work so far guys, guess what is actually playable now… Jagged Alliance for DS! Now you can actually see the icons and whatnot for stylus interaction. This is great =D Arigatou gozaimaisu
July 13th, 2009 at 12:28 am
For me, Windows XP Service pack 3 had no problem to me, only that it occurs to DeSmuMe 0.9.2, but not 0.9.4. I guess it has to do with the folder you’ve put in.
July 13th, 2009 at 11:07 am
Cool… but howcome they’ve lost the 0.9.3 version???
July 13th, 2009 at 11:51 am
Leo83: A lot of SVN builds claiming to be 0.9.3 got spread, which caused a huge amount of problems to identify from which version the bug reports came, thus releasing an official version with that number didn’t seem a good idea
July 13th, 2009 at 10:15 pm
so make version 0.9.4 into 0.9.3. couldn’t you just do that.
July 13th, 2009 at 11:27 pm
findingo101: No, then how could you tell the difference between official and leaked builds?
July 14th, 2009 at 6:47 am
We are smart enough to code emulators but not smart enough to sort out a simple question of release number logistics. Thanks for educating us. Stick around, you might come in handy.
July 14th, 2009 at 8:35 am
zeromus: I seriously doubt they’ll get your sarcastic answer, so expect people giving you advice on release numbers on the upcoming days
July 14th, 2009 at 6:52 pm
thx for the new version, im still surprise a hunter caught the 9.3 pokemon lol
July 16th, 2009 at 12:20 pm
just to let you all know .. I FOUND THE 9.3 … is the mac binary … just look in the about menu
Nice work boys. You have the best emu for DS. Keep it on.
July 16th, 2009 at 2:38 pm
Nice emulator! I think in the future DeSmuMe will be the best DS emulator in the world!
July 16th, 2009 at 4:04 pm
Anyway, 0.9.4 is a good stuff come in handy. New version better than old one. I don’t mind that. It’s just and odd to know they lost the old one. Just wish u don’t lost it again in tha future. lol.
July 17th, 2009 at 6:38 am
shash: i know how you will tell the difference, but putting all into the 0.9.4. it is so simple. its like math. if you had 0.9.2 and went up one, you will have, 0.9.3. But you lost that one, so your back to 0.9.2. you got another one that you did not lose, so it becomes 0.9.3, not 0.9.4. so simple
July 17th, 2009 at 7:52 am
mine says its version 0.9.3 instead of 0.9.4 is it supposed to be like that?
July 17th, 2009 at 8:21 am
findingo101: You don’t get the idea. How the hell do you tell the difference between the thousand versions claiming to be 0.9.3 and the official one? You can’t! And your comparison with math is pure stupidity, so don’t try to look smart.
July 17th, 2009 at 8:22 am
Crazy: If it’s the MAC version, it’s OK, seems that zeromus forgot to update the version number on that port
If not, just download the new version from this website.
July 17th, 2009 at 9:06 am
I did download it from here but i was also looking at comments for 0.9.2 and mine seems to have the same probs
July 17th, 2009 at 1:17 pm
findingo101: By that logic you must be fuming at the Debian. They skipped version 1.0 because someone jumped the gun and released an older, buggier version marked 1.0.
In thirteen years they haven’t changed the version number of their first release and they’re not ever going to change it.
July 17th, 2009 at 10:04 pm
findingo101,
you speak as though you know what is happening but you don’t.
why don’t you stop harping on the 0.9.3 and 0.9.4 version.
if you are a gamer, enjoy the new 0.9.4 and be happy.
if you want to be a tester, download the nightly svn build and contribte your bug report at sourceforge bug tracker.
July 18th, 2009 at 11:57 pm
Sweet! This release still doesn’t fix the Megaman ZX Advent problem! Woot! >:[
July 19th, 2009 at 5:59 am
Nice release! This release fixes saving bugs in Pokemon Diamond which was present in V0.9.2. Finally I can save and lode my save game normaly!
July 20th, 2009 at 12:13 am
Oh another thing, this version finally fixes the avi recording problem because in the previous version, when I played my recorded avi, there is no sound and sometime the recorded files just become corrupted, but this release fixes that problem. Thanks for your hard work!
July 20th, 2009 at 4:55 am
@william:
It doesn’t work under 0.9.4, regrettably, however, as of 0.9.5 svn build 2628, save file for Pokemon Platinum IS working without a hitch!!
July 20th, 2009 at 3:18 pm
Yeah. Oh, I just found one new SVN Build for 0.9.5, but I know that’s unofficial release, I think I will wait for the official release. Maybe the 0.9.5 official release will have all features from the SVN Builds! Excited? Well probably not because that is still pretty far away.
July 20th, 2009 at 5:54 pm
Nut: The next version WILL have the features on the SVN. Learn what is SVN and why what you just said doesn’t make sense.
July 22nd, 2009 at 1:24 am
i think you so much for making a mac desmume the could be run on a powerpc, but when i play the games the graphic is very bad, i cant see much its almost blurred out, pokemon is a lil better except tht there are boxes over the people… and the colors seems to be weird…
is it a glitch or is it my graphic card?? .. i thought most mac had pretty good graphic card… and i run world of warcraft perfectly.. i believe wow has better graphic then ds games..
July 23rd, 2009 at 12:39 am
i’d love to have the “sleep mode when you close the DS” in the next version of the emulator for games like Zelda Phantom Hourglass
July 23rd, 2009 at 1:22 am
HELLO, it is all of the above. Sorry, the PPC build is not very good. Youll have to be patient, maybe it wil be fixed some day.
joao, there is a lid close button. It might only be in the windows version. Check the hotkey or controls config.
July 23rd, 2009 at 3:11 am
I would like to know what is the requirement for this emulator?? It’s seems to be crash on pentium 4, 2.4 Ghz and the RAM is 512 but it’s work perfectly on AMD Athlon 64×2 2.19Ghz, and the RAM is 896. Is ir because a memory problem???
July 23rd, 2009 at 3:49 am
Hi,
There is a link on the homepage to a new updated Games Incompatibility List (WIP). Have a look at it.
July 23rd, 2009 at 12:41 pm
Hi
new on dsemume, i take it for making run Korg ds-10 synthesizer on my mac, but the sound are totally noisy, like scratching, note the true sound, totally distorded…
are this a curent problem? or i have to change juste my korg download,??
thx
July 23rd, 2009 at 10:13 pm
I love how we have an Incompatibility list instead of a compatability list. It’s actually very good and nicely organized. Thanks Pokefan999 for maintaining it
July 24th, 2009 at 12:02 am
XMSFel6,
Thanks for your feedback. I have further enhanced the site to make it more friendly and informative. Look forward to your contribution

On our newsflash, you can look forward to update on unplayable games on official 0.9.4 version being fixed and playable on the latest svn build (or major improvement to games).
If you miss our daily newsflash, there will be a Newsflash Archival page coming soon.
July 24th, 2009 at 8:07 am
korg ds-10 wont run well right now i bet.
July 24th, 2009 at 11:32 pm
The NewsFlash Archival page is now ready and you will not miss any of the daily newsflash if you did not want to visit the Games Incompatibility List page on a daily basis.
Try it out.
July 25th, 2009 at 1:26 am
@ zeromus
Hi, can you help me to chek what’s wrong on my mac for runing well the Korg ds-10?
Dont know if my problem is clear, sorry for my little english…
I have Mac 10.5.7 Imac 24″
The version 0.9.2 of DESMUME
2 version of Korg ds-10 dowloaded on rapidshare ( itook 2 different download link because i was thinking that the first was the problem…)
When i play some other games, like mario, megamix,… the sound is clear, no problem…
But when i run Korg ds-10, the sound is distorded, inaudible. on the begining i was thinking that was a problem on the configuration of out putt setting on the synth sound or mixer… but no…
I saw a forum speaking about that problem, but no answer, so no solution…
Thx
July 25th, 2009 at 1:34 am
on the forum of desmume, there is a person saying
” I noticed that the ROM loads fine, but is basically useless because it only produces one garbled note. The FAQ mentions that streaming sound is one of this emulator’s weak points, & I’d imagine that this is the one and only function of DS-10. Just a heads up to anyone looking to try it.”
This are the same problem…
July 25th, 2009 at 3:29 am
yes they are. now you know to search before you ask.
July 29th, 2009 at 6:33 am
Frankly, I’m a bit disappointed. I’m seeing a lot of work on new features and no real progress to the core. Timing issues, slowness even on very high-end hardware, and streaming audio studdering are preventing an enjoyable experience using this emu.
Focus on fixing those and you’ll have yourself a decent emu. I’d rather have a truly good and accurate emu over one loaded with useless extras (which seems to be the direction the development is heading).
I’m sure I’ll get some sarcastic “go to hell” type response, but I’m just stating the facts. I do like this emu, but I worry about what the developers’ priorites are.
July 29th, 2009 at 8:48 am
Dave: Work is done on compatibility issues, but isn’t as easy as coding GUI stuff, so it’s quite natural that you feel that work is focused is there. Getting a compatibility fix on the current stage takes weeks if not months, doing a GUI/usability change takes a few hours. Both are being worked afaik, just the compatibility is harder to see if you don’t pay close attention to the SVN.
Next time you criticize something, please try to research what you’re talking about
July 29th, 2009 at 9:14 am
Dave,
Visit the incompatibility list and look at the daily newsflash or its archival and you will see how many improvements have been made (still have alot not listed yet). Many games are playable now etc.
July 30th, 2009 at 11:40 am
Compare to the previous version, the new one is far more better. I believe to create the new and perfect emulator is not as easy as eating a cake. Put ourselves on their situation, then we understand what they are doing is really fantastic. so congratulation to the team behind it. It takes times, effort and a lot of mistakes to make it perfect. But does this emulator able to run on old kind of PC?? cause it seems crash when I’m doing it??
July 30th, 2009 at 12:19 pm
Yeah, making emulator is not as easy as making websites. I guess the longer the wait is between versions, the better the next version will be.
July 31st, 2009 at 4:08 am
Haha, what kind of idiots it takes to yap so much about a version number of single release? Especially if there is a reasonable reason for that. You stupid 0.9.3 complaining cunts, start writing your own emulator and/or fucking die.
July 31st, 2009 at 2:21 pm
hey.. i have problem with this 0.9.4 version.
With the game pokemon platinum, when i came in a big town, it lags!! always 95%-99% lag. The number on top on the left.
sry for my bad english.
July 31st, 2009 at 3:09 pm
goooaall!!: Those questions belong on the forum, not here.
August 1st, 2009 at 5:28 pm
I think retaining the direct support of *.sav files is a better option, and dumping to *.dsv files is a worse option…
August 1st, 2009 at 9:38 pm
Guyz i am really going mad! Why the save states for Pokemon doesnt work? what version of de Smume i should have? i have tried every single one.. plz hlp! is there something i can do in thev options?
August 2nd, 2009 at 6:07 am
Do you have the latest version? The current version is 0.9.4. Savestate in Pokemon Diamond works find for me in 0.9.4, I think you should use that version.
August 2nd, 2009 at 10:05 am
Actually in the version 0.9.4 whenever i save to state and go to load i get the message “error to load from state 1″..
my save type is switched to “autodetect”.. shall i have to make any changes? ty anyway Nut!
August 2nd, 2009 at 12:06 pm
Well use the “Save State As” in the files menu. At least this works for me. and, ingame saving should work, since it works for me. Maybe it’s your computer’s problem that’s why it won’t work. And, what’s your system spects?
August 2nd, 2009 at 12:29 pm
the saves must be in .sav format? coz mine are not! i am on holidays with a laptop dual core 1,45Ghz 1GB RAM and a low-quality graphics card.. :p acTUally it’s not mine.. does Pokemon need more requirements?!?!
August 3rd, 2009 at 12:38 am
Yes, the save must be in .SAV format. And yes, I think Pokemon Game need something like a high-quality graphics card.
August 3rd, 2009 at 5:06 am
Hope the emulator gonna have a shortcut soon in newer version. I feel awkward cause I’m used to it in gameboy advance emulator.
August 3rd, 2009 at 10:40 am
i quit trying.. i have tried in all DS emulators and all versions and my savestates are only at .nds format instead of .sav!
you were like my last h0pe but i guess i have to find an0ther way to spend my time.. any ideas though? thx anyway especially to Nut.. (my graphic card is fine as long as the game starts playin..)
August 3rd, 2009 at 7:56 pm
Leo83: Shortcut’s for what exactly ? Be specific
August 4th, 2009 at 1:25 pm
Ooh.. I forgot to say the detail. A shortcut to save game or open the file, save a snapshot or video file like any other emulator… I suggest it be integrated in this emulator. Cause i’m used to it.
August 4th, 2009 at 2:06 pm
Yeah, There should be some short cuts for saving states, recording movies, etc.
August 4th, 2009 at 2:20 pm
Do you all mean hotkeys? Because shortcut is a link to an application, which makes no sense for what you’re listing.
August 6th, 2009 at 1:58 am
yeah hotkeys… that’s the word. Already forgot about that word
)
August 6th, 2009 at 5:41 am
@Nut:
In this version (0.9.4), the save file is needed to be in *.dsv format!!!
August 6th, 2009 at 7:53 am
Really? I didn’t know that! But at least I can still lode my save game, which is important, then the save type doesn’t matter for me. And, I’ve forgotten already what file type does my save was. Maybe I’ll check it.
August 6th, 2009 at 4:23 pm
Is there a way to access the memory adresses below 020000?
August 6th, 2009 at 4:45 pm
Also is there a way to do a complete dump of the memory?
August 7th, 2009 at 11:16 pm
Hi,
I’ve been doing a bit of work with your emulator and I had a few quick questions regarding some code in OGLRender.cpp
Is there any way I can contact you privately with my questions? (Like e-mail?)

The mac universal download is not .9.4. It’s .9.3. My pokemon platinum game is not allowing me to open the menu as a result. Could you update the link?
August 13th, 2009 at 10:30 am
Andrea: It’s 0.9.4, only the number was not updated, the features are 0.9.4 level. It’s the second (or third) time I repeat the same, would you please read the comments before hitting submit?
August 13th, 2009 at 1:32 pm
I need help! it crashes whenever I start desmume.exe or desmume_nosse.exe. I can’t even open the emulator. I have a pentium 4 HT with 512 MB of RAM.
August 13th, 2009 at 6:35 pm
There are over 100 comments, I’m sorry I didn’t read them.

Hi, when trying to compile DeSmuMe, I always get this error: 1>—— Build started: Project: DeSmuMe, Configuration: Release FastBuild Win32 ——
1>Performing Pre-Build Event…
1>The system cannot find the path specified.
1>Project : error PRJ0019: A tool returned an error code from “Performing Pre-Build Event…”
1>Build log was saved at “file://J:\DeSmuMe SVN\desmume-0.9.4\src\windows\.VS2008\Release FastBuild\Win32\BuildLog.htm”
1>DeSmuMe – 1 error(s), 0 warning(s)
========== Build: 0 succeeded, 1 failed, 0 up-to-date, 0 skipped ==========. And so because of this error, I was not able to compile DeSmuMe 0.9.4 successfully. Anyone know what is going on?
August 15th, 2009 at 12:26 pm
A newsflash page is mentioned a few times in the comments and i have been to that page myself but cannot seem to find it anymore ….
was it removed
link appreciated

Nut: Use the forums for those kind of questions.
On a general note, if you’re not commenting on desmume 0.9.4, then post on the forums, here is not it’s place, and thus will be moderated accordingly.
August 15th, 2009 at 5:37 pm
shash: I logged into #desmume and posted my general question publicly, but no one seems interested in responding.
Can you suggest a couple names of people I could talk to about OGLRender.cpp ?
August 15th, 2009 at 9:01 pm
Well, better ask on the forums technical section, there’ll get answered. Sometimes finding people on IRC is not easy
August 16th, 2009 at 1:55 am
Are the three linux ports being made by different people? I found that there’s a “Right screen” option in the GTK-glade port, but it’s missing in the GTK and CLI ports. Just being curious, I thought features like these would have to be implemented on a “lower level” or something.
Oh yeah, great job you did there. Also, much love for fixing the Megaman ZX Advent display issue in the SVN builds.
August 16th, 2009 at 2:03 am
Geez, just read it myself on the wiki. Sorry for asking dumb questions.
August 19th, 2009 at 11:15 am
MAKE ME A LINUX BINARY PLZZ KTHX
Just kidding. I can do it myself.
Does this version support the usage of BIOS in the Linux GUI yet?
August 20th, 2009 at 12:19 am
Wow, This emulator is my favorite! Version 0.9.4 Fixes many bugs with Pokemon which occurs in the previous version. Now the only bug lefft is the problem with the trade function, but I think you can fix it. So keep working hard!
August 20th, 2009 at 7:34 pm
i have a translation in romanian, where do i send it to
August 21st, 2009 at 1:17 am
ninja gaiden cannot walk/run.
resident evil deadly silence hang.
mario kart intermittent hang.

August 22nd, 2009 at 4:44 am

August 27th, 2009 at 4:53 am
There is no desmume.exe file in download
August 27th, 2009 at 10:43 am
Geri0n: There is, download the proper files before posting such nonsense.
August 27th, 2009 at 11:32 am
I think V0.9.4 is fastest of all versions because I had tried my compiled 0.9.5 and latest SVN Builds, it runs slower. So I think 0.9.4 is fastest.
August 27th, 2009 at 11:47 am
I had compiled the new 0.9.5. Inside the emulator it labled: “0.9.5SVN0.” Where can I upload this? I want everyone to try it because it runs find on my computer, so I don’t know if it will run well on yours, and note that this is windows only, as I compiled it on windows.
August 27th, 2009 at 12:28 pm
Supanut: Doing so is discouraged, it’s ok to compile and use it yourself, but SVN is work in progress, and thus shouldn’t be spread or speed profiled by non-developers.
August 28th, 2009 at 2:40 am
this version still can’t play dragon quest 5. only selection interface and sound…no 3D graphics… I like to see it work perfectly in the newer version. thanks…
i’m currently enjoy playing zelda phantom hourglass, trauma center and all the 3 castlevania(s)… they all working perfectly on 0.9.4. great job guys!!!
you are all my best friends!!! I like emulator more than I like window games…!
August 30th, 2009 at 7:54 pm
Will DeSmuME release a newer version where users can enter codes?
And is there a patch that allows uses to enter codes for the Mac DeSmuMe ?
August 30th, 2009 at 11:57 pm
@Supanut
Also, 0.9.5 is still under revision. Unless the team releases it officially on this site, it’ll still have quite a few bugs as the team continues to straighten out stuff and fix things.
August 31st, 2009 at 2:55 am
I know this may be a long shot, but would you guys ever consider porting DeSmuMe to the Wii?
September 2nd, 2009 at 8:03 pm
that is good for finally i can play
September 3rd, 2009 at 12:04 pm
hello Dear Yopyop I am very happy to find this emu of nds.
My English is not good, for avoid translating the engine translation error margin a meaning for causing confuse, I have encloses with the Chinese original text, hoping right express my meaning.

And make what me amaze is
Found out incredibly in your software Chinese language pack

As for your software my individual there is two very small suggestions:
1, consults the emulator of ideas can separate the characteristics of the window way suggests that you also join this function, and support two window ways to zoom respectively, believing to speaks this to shoulds be not difficult to realize on the technique for you.^^
2, whenever open the time of the procedure will remind that the ” can’t read” can’ts be normal to save the drama in game and then, do not know whether can repair once.
3, hope to join to the solid hour backup with solid hour the fast key of the backup from definition function, operate with the convenient player.

GoldDragon: Use the forums for that kind of posts, it’s the last one that I’m approving of that type: this is a comments section, not a discussion section. And read the readme, so you know who the authors are.
September 4th, 2009 at 1:52 am
Wow.
People only say “MY GAME DOESN’T WORK! FIX IT, YOU DUMBSHIT!” … and almost noone thanks those developers for even RELEASING the emulator to the public. You should keep it to yourselves, guys. ‘Till people start to think and thank, ’cause I can imagine how hard and life-sucking it is to write such thing as an emulator.
THANK YOU.
I’ve been using NES, SNES, N64, PSX, PS2 & GBA emulators and I love them… You guys give us a chance to replay those old, great games… Zelda’s, Lufia’s, Mario’s… Not that I don’t own a SNES, a N64 and some PlayStations.. Even though, I don’t have all the games…
I guess the difficulty level for an NDS-emulator doubles, since there are two screens and a lot of features included in the DS (mic, touch screen, 3D) and so on.
And although some games don’t run perfectly (slow sometimes, crappy sound, etc.) we all should be thankful someone is even GIVING PART OF THEIR LIVES to do this.
Once again, THANKS! Zelda Phantom Hourglass was a GREAT, refreshing play! Keep up the good work to make us possible to play such nice games.
Do you think you’ll be able to make that WiFi-feature work?
See ya!
September 4th, 2009 at 9:01 am
[praise]
Thanks for the most awesome DS emulator, guys, well done, keep it up:D
September 6th, 2009 at 3:29 pm
Lovely, finally an DS Emulator that works somewhat!
Love my DS but I hate not being able to record good clips for it.
Will this emulator have support for say DS Simply saves in the future?
Keep up the good work. Looking forward to having Front Mission playable ^^
September 7th, 2009 at 11:17 am
thx for the release. crossing fingers for the trade/wii function fixed soon. good job!
September 7th, 2009 at 3:13 pm
Very good emulator. It would be especially cool if you were able to make it more multithreaded somehow, as my E6600 averages around 48% use now.
September 8th, 2009 at 1:45 pm
yes, indeed. current version is a processor speed sucker. E7200 average 36% usage for desmume 0.9.4. polygon inttermittent missing and only 50% game speed if running with archieve pentium 4 3Ghz. I’m sure they are now fixing bugs and will further optimize this matter. I’m happy with it. it is stable and running fine with core 2 duo.
September 9th, 2009 at 12:21 pm
Read the FAQ, to know what those percentages mean, if you get 60 FPS, it’s full speed.
September 9th, 2009 at 8:29 pm
I’ve been looking for installation instructions for the DeSmuMe Emulator. Could someone help me, please?
September 10th, 2009 at 7:38 pm
Hi! Have you planed to probably port DeSmuME to the Maemo 5 platform for the upcoming Nokia N900? It has an OMAP 600mhz processor and a PowerVR OpenGL ES 2.0 GPU, so this is probably a good platform for porting?
September 10th, 2009 at 10:13 pm
Pokemon HeartGold and SoulSilver [JPN] work well on DesMuMe 0.94!!!
All you need to patch these rom files, using Anti-Piracy patch to prevent random freezes.
September 12th, 2009 at 2:04 am
scribblenauts doesnt work in the mac .94 version
September 12th, 2009 at 9:27 pm
yup scribblenauts just says “executing…” forever
September 14th, 2009 at 6:42 am
For those pokemon users waiting to transfer pokemons from gba games to platinum, it is working. Download the latest svn and transfer your pokemons.
September 14th, 2009 at 10:03 am
For those with scribblenauts problems, the game is not yet released, thus you won’t get help.
September 15th, 2009 at 6:37 pm
wow pokemon heart gold works absolutely perfect in desmume 0.9.4! i dont have freezes or something else and it runs in full speed (60 FPS)! Thank you for that miracle
! cant wait for 0.9.5 official release! and wi-fi of course hehe . . . THANK YOU . . .
September 15th, 2009 at 6:38 pm

September 16th, 2009 at 3:48 pm
Pokemon fans,
It is now possible to migrate your beloved pokemon from Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald/FireRed/LeafGreen to Diamond/Pearl/Platinum
I have tested all the games above
It’s possible to evolve your pokemon such as Kadabra/Graveler/Onix/Scythe…etc.
Well done, guys
You guys are so smart!
You need:
DesmuME 0.95 svn build 2800 or above (compiled)
Pokemon Diamond/Pearl/Platinum
Pokemon Diamond/Pearl/Platinum Save file (POST-E4 and Have national Dex)
Pokemon R/S/E/FR/LG
Pokemon R/S/E/FR/LG Save file (Must have at least 6 any pokemon in a box)
Note: All the above files must be in the same folder, otherwise, it won’t work.
September 16th, 2009 at 5:45 pm
Hi All,
The SVN version fixes issues with running of lot of games as well as screen update issues with some other games. Definitely worth the effort of downloading (using svn and or tar.gz/bz2 from sourceforge) and compiling.
This includes scribblenaut also.
Enjoy everyone.
September 17th, 2009 at 5:29 am
i download desmume, but i can not find exe file in the folder, so i can open the aplication…
please help me…where is the exe file of desmume v0.9.4 that i download from sourceforge??
September 17th, 2009 at 11:34 am
Does the latest SVN Build includes a trading fixed for Pokemon Diamond/Perl/Platinum?
September 17th, 2009 at 12:43 pm
Ooh, that SVN version sounds interesting. Is it for Mac? Or will we have to wait until the next version before it gets Mac compatibility?
September 17th, 2009 at 1:40 pm
@Supanut9678
no, not yet. I meant you can get evolved pokemon (Kadabra/Graveler/Onix/Scythe…etc) from R/S/E/FR/LG, just migrate these pokemon to Diamond/Pearl/Platinum.
Note: You know you can trade pokemon in all the GBA Pokemon games by using 2 VBA link emulators.
Sorry, I mis-worded my previous post
Out of excitement, I guess.
September 18th, 2009 at 11:53 am
can someone upload the latest svn version? or please show me how to download from svn and then compile? please someone…..
September 18th, 2009 at 12:53 pm
hmm i have found how to download and i have downloaded 142MB (trunk and branches folders under desmume folder)for now (still downloading). now i only want to compile it? what to do? im new help!
September 18th, 2009 at 2:13 pm
^^^
READ THE FAQ!
You need to download Visual C++ Express 2008, it’s FREE and around 90mb in file size. Use this software to compile the latest svn build.
September 18th, 2009 at 2:44 pm
oo thanks but i already compile it! YES i have the latest version
September 18th, 2009 at 2:45 pm
btw the faq helped me lol i just was searching in wrong sites
September 18th, 2009 at 3:32 pm
Lol. Cool, Enjoy the pal park
September 18th, 2009 at 7:47 pm
DesMuMe Emulator uses a lot of memory usage. Any ideas to decrease the memory usage?
September 18th, 2009 at 8:45 pm
Hey man, quit being a shit. We don’t get a thank you for releasing it, do we? (even though it’s a load of dog shit…)
September 19th, 2009 at 5:03 pm
hehe that emu keeps updated every hour!
September 20th, 2009 at 12:15 am
Yeah, the latest SVN build uses different save format, that’s why the save from 0.9.4 don’t work in this latest SVN build.
September 20th, 2009 at 3:13 am
Does the wifi will be usable by next release? Because I see that you can config wifi in the latest SVN Build. Does mean that by the next release I can play Pokemon game with working wifi?
September 20th, 2009 at 3:37 am
How do I use it with Mac?
September 20th, 2009 at 3:53 am
I mean the SVN version, of course.
September 20th, 2009 at 12:34 pm
Great Emu, i like it for making homebrew game photos.
September 20th, 2009 at 9:50 pm
Ok i like this emulator because it’s the only one I know of that saves proporly.
actualy it doesnt. I have to use the “save state” feature.
anyways my problem is that I’m playing a game that needs me to blow into the micrphone. HOW DO I DO THAT?
i can’t get past were I am because i don’t know how to blow on the screen
pleas ehelp TT_TT”
September 21st, 2009 at 4:09 am
Scribblenauts works fine on the windows version, but the mac version just says “executing” forever. I just don’t want to use windows, I wish the mac version was better.
September 21st, 2009 at 4:32 pm
Let’s hope Desmume exceeds no$gba in terms of compatibility and emulation quality, with working saves and also works for horizontal DS games.
@Rakkushi:
You need to blow into a microphone that is connected to your pc. I blew into my headset microphone when playing one of the Gyakuten Saiban games. Was using no$gba then, not sure about Desmume.
September 21st, 2009 at 9:25 pm
Thanks! but the thing is
my sister stole my mic right before she flew to japan TT_TT
about a week ago…
September 22nd, 2009 at 1:38 pm
so i need to wait for a newest desmume version or to start playing now
September 22nd, 2009 at 1:39 pm
im asking because im worry that i will play now and my save will wont load in a newest version of desmume
September 22nd, 2009 at 5:05 pm
im using the latest svn btw
September 23rd, 2009 at 3:04 am
Game save is unlikely to be broken over svn while savestate may get broken over svn.
The safest way is to take game save at your latest gameplay point and always do savestate with latest svn for testing / cheating purpose.
September 23rd, 2009 at 8:12 am
hmm okay thanks i will play now (but i will have a heart attack if my save wont load) and tsk i will use savestates but only for safety (im not a cheater,i love to obtain something very hard
)
September 23rd, 2009 at 8:19 am
If you are still paranoid, export your game save to somewhere safe. Your exported game save will be RAW in format. Do it daily. In any case the latest version of Desmume cannot load your game save, just import your game file (.RAW).
Btw, I’m playing Pokemon Platinum on the latest svn build. I found a graphical bug! My character gets covered with a black glitchy block, that happens somtimes after finished battling/enslaving (JKING) wild pokemon in a grass, I can get rid of this bug by entering/exiting any building.
September 23rd, 2009 at 9:05 am
no,no its okay i will play with saves and savestates. You found a graphical bug in platinum? THATS NOT GOOD! I hope you will fix it! (refreshing http://sourceforge.net/projects/desmume/develop every second
)
September 24th, 2009 at 5:39 pm
oh no another problem! i have a ds firmware and bioses and i check boot from firmware in the emulation settings but when i open a rom nothing happens i just i see a white screen
September 25th, 2009 at 1:39 am
check the bios and firmware options except don’t check “boot from firmware” if you want to play with bios and firmware.
September 25th, 2009 at 6:57 am
um thanks i know that but i want to boot from firmware but as i see that cant be done. i dont know if someone answered for this but in the future you will fix that problem? thanks (back to testing roms
)
September 25th, 2009 at 7:16 am
and lol pokefan you have posted the same comment twise here: http://sourceforge.net/projects/desmume/develop
September 25th, 2009 at 7:35 am
give a more specific link.
which issue are you referring to?
are u talking about the bios and firmware?
did I post about bios & firmware on sourceforge recently?
September 25th, 2009 at 7:53 am
no no you posted this 2 times: Dottorleo, if you really understand, you would have noticed that you did not link to nash679 id# until I ask you to quote the id# in comment #4 (your link came in comment #5) – get it, kiddy. So your latest comment prove that you have an I.Q. of a 5 years old – get it, kiddy. like I said, simply go away and play with your doll and stop bugging this post with your childish nonsense. A…
September 25th, 2009 at 9:02 am
Lol it’s had been sometimes now since the release of 0.9.4. Hope 0.9.5 release soon.
September 25th, 2009 at 9:55 am
Dean,
there was a typo and I corrected it – it is not double posting.
Anyway, I have no choice but to reply as it is my bug post.
September 25th, 2009 at 10:34 am
oh lol then
. Anyways im waiting for wi-fi and the boot from firmware thing to work now
September 25th, 2009 at 10:35 am
and sorry 4 my engles
September 26th, 2009 at 4:45 am
Dean,
have you tried encrypting your rom for the “boot from firmware” option?
does it work?
September 26th, 2009 at 8:36 am
Yes i encrypted my rom but nothing only white screen.
September 26th, 2009 at 11:28 am
Dean,
I guess we will have to wait for the developer to fix that portion.
But it doesn’t really matter if that option doesn’t work.
September 26th, 2009 at 12:25 pm
I know but i looks like a real DS
October 4th, 2009 at 4:35 am
Pokemon in-game trading is working in the latest svn.
October 4th, 2009 at 8:06 pm
Really? Yes, now i will trade my pokes!!!
October 4th, 2009 at 8:14 pm
Pokefan can you tell me what i need to trade my pokes? i have the 2926 svn for now (i get the latest as it is available
) and i have pokemon platinum (E)
October 5th, 2009 at 11:44 am
Dean,
You just need the latest svn (2924 or newer) to do in-game trading (nothng special). Of course you must know your game to go to the right place to trade (I assume you know where).
October 5th, 2009 at 12:06 pm
hoho a lot of work today! (lol 10 files updated from svn 2926 to 2929!). Thanks for the emulator!!! And keep the good work
October 5th, 2009 at 12:09 pm
Thanks again Pokefan and yes i know where to trade
October 6th, 2009 at 9:01 am
Hi, is Desmume still alive? It is by far the best emu for DS games. Keep up the great work if it is still alive…
October 6th, 2009 at 4:16 pm
Yeah, it had been sometime now since last release. Hope this emulator still alive!
October 6th, 2009 at 4:40 pm
Sorry for being a bit dumb, does this emulator support rendering using only SDL (If it does, I wanna make some ports for mobile phones)
Thanks in Advance for the answer
October 6th, 2009 at 6:42 pm
The emulator is alive and keeps updating very often (every hour-hours). Howewer you need to know how to compile and downloading from svn to have the latest svn of DeSmuME.
October 6th, 2009 at 9:05 pm
Well, there are a few problems. 1) It oversizes certain graphics, and 2) it needs more support for menus involving name-changes and such.
Other than that, I generally don’t see other problems uther than lack of speed, but that’s understandable.
October 7th, 2009 at 11:03 am
Well, I had compiled DeSmuMe SVN R2930 yesterday. At first I was going to share it but I don’t know where can I upload it. Anyway, the SVN Builds of this emulator keeps updating every day, so good!
October 7th, 2009 at 11:32 am
Great, now I know how to compile it! Now I had updated my source code and re-compile it, I had got the latest SVN Build! This is like the first step in programming world!
October 7th, 2009 at 7:11 pm
Hey, I just installed Visual C++ 2008 Express Edition and downloaded desmume/trunk/src folder off the project page… well, I compiled the source code (teh latest svn build) and then I got this error message – something about missing LNP or LNK stuff, please halp me
S.O.S
October 7th, 2009 at 9:17 pm
wtf wheres my comment!!!
October 7th, 2009 at 9:19 pm
uhh BIG sorry 1 minute ago i dident saw my comment and now i can see it again!!! Wierd Google Chrome or something…..
October 8th, 2009 at 6:24 am
Hey I can’t see your comment on my firefox
Should I download the whole source code? Even those tags/branches folders? I don’t like wasting my bandwidth
It’s huge! 145mb?!!!
October 8th, 2009 at 9:46 am
Dean: It’s moderated out, we don’t tolerate SVN builds here.
October 8th, 2009 at 11:47 am
Another successful compilation. Updated to SVN R2938! I think compiling from SVN builds is easier than compiling from the current oficial version.
October 8th, 2009 at 12:41 pm
Where can I download the source code????????? I read the FAQ but it doesn’t specify the place where I can download!!!!! HELP ME HELP ME HELP ME!!!!!!!
October 8th, 2009 at 1:41 pm
FlashForward_FAN: I don’t know, I use the SVN Client to download the latest SVN Build source code. Maybe you can also try google it and you should find the downloads for that.
October 8th, 2009 at 5:31 pm
uh sorry then. Flash you need to download the files from here: https://desmume.svn.sourceforge.net/svnroot/desmume/trunk/ and im sure you know what to do next.
October 8th, 2009 at 9:52 pm
Ok, I have downloaded the source code (Trunk folder only) as you said.
When I try to compile this source code, I get this:

1>DeSmuME_VS2008 – 0 error(s), 5 warning(s)
========== Rebuild All: 1 succeeded, 0 failed, 0 skipped ==========
WHY?
What did I do wrong? I use Visual C++ 2008 EE (without this MSDN library thingy). My OS is visa. My cpu is intel core 2 duo e6550 with SSe2 support.
October 9th, 2009 at 1:59 am
I get those warnings too, but they don’t affect the build process. It should still be successful and you should see the Desmume_VS2008_release.exe or something in the _bins folder.
If you look at the end of that build log you just posted, it says “Rebuild All: 1 succeeded, 0 failed, 0 skipped”. That means that it went through alright. If you see “1 failed” that means that it didn’t compile correctly and there’s a problem somewhere in the code.
October 9th, 2009 at 7:12 am
Ok thanks
I figured that you can get rid of these scary warnings.
Go to project property -> configuration setting -> Linker -> Debugging -> Change GENERAL DEBUG INFO to “NO”
One more thing, Why the console windows appears when I run Desmume_VS2008_release.exe??? How do I get rid of this? 0.9.4 doesn’t have this problem oO.
The reason I downloaded this latest svn is to play pokeman games
Cos they made the pal park working!!!!!
October 9th, 2009 at 9:18 am
Gee men! Your work looks more like a poem than a program! As you are a grape of geniuses, tell me, don’t you ever wanna work on an emulator for GameCube? I’m sure it would be a great one? Tell me that you will!
October 9th, 2009 at 9:22 am
Hoho another successful compilation! Updated to R2942!
October 9th, 2009 at 10:33 am
I built a release solution from the latest svn, but when running *.exe, it opens up 2 windows – a desmume windows and a debug console windows
I don’t know how to disable this annoying debug console windows.

FlashForward_FAN: Afaik, it’s answered on the FAQ, else ask on the forums.
To the rest, stop the SVN compiling discussion here, discuss it on the forums: I’ll be deleting anything not strictly related to 0.9.4 and mac build, as this are COMMENTS for that.
October 9th, 2009 at 3:26 pm
FlashForward_FAN: Maybe there’s a solution in the build configuration. Try check it out.
October 9th, 2009 at 5:24 pm

October 10th, 2009 at 12:38 am
Yeah, It’s had been months already since the release of 0.9.4. Hope 0.9.5 comes out before Christmas.
October 10th, 2009 at 9:55 am

October 10th, 2009 at 12:55 pm
whoa 8 new files added to my desmume folder and 10 files updated? wow you are working hard- good, you are better than some game developers!!! Thanks again!!! your emu is already better than no$gba and it gets better every second!!!
October 10th, 2009 at 7:42 pm
um strange thing: i can boot from firmware! and i can change and save the options too! in 2946 svn! Thank you!
October 11th, 2009 at 9:58 am
The best emulator today! I can say that DeSmuMe is much much better than No$gba and ideas because it supports features in Pokemon D/P/PT that No$gba and ideas don’t support like Pal-Park, save states, and movie recording. You are the best! Thanks for this nice emulator and keep up your good work!
October 11th, 2009 at 11:44 am
hmm the only things i want now is wi-fi (:D) and web camera (to be like Nintendo DSi
October 11th, 2009 at 4:56 pm
Dean, how do you get the firmware thingy working? oO I tried mine, I still get the white screen when loading an encrypted nds rom. Please reply. THanks.
October 11th, 2009 at 6:50 pm
I have to report a small bug in Mac version. The mute setting do not persist when reloading a previously saved state.
October 11th, 2009 at 8:21 pm
I Have done some things to DeSmuME
. Now i can boot from firmware and change & Save the options in Firmware (like in real DS)!!! I Have created a nice installer for DeSmuME with those files and the svn 2952 and i have uploaded it but i cant post the link here! Please can i post the link somewhere? Its a beautiful installer
you will like it
!!!
October 11th, 2009 at 8:31 pm
Dean: How many times do I’ve to say no?
October 11th, 2009 at 8:49 pm
OK,OK Calm down!
October 11th, 2009 at 9:04 pm
1 Dumb question: can i join your project? i will search for bugs and maybe create installers for DeSmuME! Please! (LoL from heart)
October 11th, 2009 at 9:20 pm
Dean: Ask on forums, I’m not active on development any more.
October 11th, 2009 at 9:36 pm
oh thanks anyway
October 12th, 2009 at 10:17 am
@DEAN: Cool
About getting the link… leave it. You might get banned by posting this link here
Just tell me how do you do.
Emulation settings?
Mine:
Bios images + firmware.bin loaded
SWIs emulated with BIOS images enabled.
Boot from firmware enabled.
SVN Build – 2952
When I load a encrypted game rom file,I get the nintendo health warning screen and stuff, it asks me to enter my personal information, when that’s done, I clicked OK to restart the system. Then nothing happened. It didn’t save my information. I again run desmume, it asks me to input the information again. Why??? Why didn’t it store the information I entered before?
October 12th, 2009 at 1:24 pm
Not working for me. I use a Macbook. v 0.94 still doesn’t work. I’m getting tired of trying each time it reaches out a new version
October 12th, 2009 at 3:28 pm
in the ultimate svn version the games lag and much slow
October 12th, 2009 at 5:27 pm
whoa! Flash i have compiled svn 2953 and im using it and i have the same problem as you! but anything was ok in 2952…. but there is a firmware changer that changes and saves all the info but i need to find it………..
October 12th, 2009 at 7:10 pm
Dean, me too :O My SVN build is 2952. Yesterday I could change the firmware setting and the changes were saved without any problem. All was perfect until today…. When I started desmume and load a game, I was asked to input my nickname, colour and stuff. After that, I restarted desmume. Again, the same problem
Very strange!!!! It worked fine yesterday and today it don’t!!! What the hell! OO no$gba works fine!
Dude, google DS firmware editing tutorial by Setya. You need a hex editor to do this
October 12th, 2009 at 7:12 pm
davide, really? If your CPU is old, then it surely slows down a ds emulator alot.
October 12th, 2009 at 7:29 pm
Flash i have found already a firmware editor! Edit: i change the info in the firmware editor but when im trying to run from firmware i get a crash. Great!
October 12th, 2009 at 7:33 pm
Damn, I guess the defense mechanism in the firmware that prevents manual editing. Maybe it’s a failed program (points at the firmware editor)
Try it on no$gba?
October 12th, 2009 at 8:10 pm
Yes it works in no$gba 2.6a and that firmware editor helped a lot of people. Argggg! ^^we have turned this page into a bug discussion^^
October 12th, 2009 at 9:28 pm

October 12th, 2009 at 9:34 pm
i have intel core 2 duo
October 13th, 2009 at 3:44 pm
Uh yea that nice that someone could turn this page into a bug discussion page rather than the general comments about the v0.9.4. Cool!
October 13th, 2009 at 5:09 pm
Then lets continue bug tracking!!!
October 13th, 2009 at 6:42 pm
Closing this for comments, as new comments on 0.9.4 have not been coming for quite long: if you want to discuss SVN or bugs, please go to the forums or the official bug tracker.
